Titanus Yamata no Orochi is an ancient polychaete daikaiju created by Legendary Pictures that appears in Legendary's 2019 film, Godzilla: KOTM, as a name briefly seen on a monitor.

NAME
"Yamata no Orochi" is a dragon from Japanese mythology with eight heads and eight tails. It is unknown if Titanus Yamata no Orochi was misinterpreted by the ancient Japanese as the legendary dragon, or if Titanus Yamata no Orochi was codenamed by MONARCH.

APPEARANCE
Yamata no Orochi takes on the appearance of polychaete worms particularly Eunice aphroditois, the Bobbit worm. Like the Polychaete it has a slender worm like body that is plated in a hard exoskeleton that gleams like reflective glass. Each body segment has stubby claw like protrusions on each side that it uses to travel through the earth. Yamata no Orochi possesses two large mandibles that it can strike out at will but retract into soft pockets inside its head.
Yamata no Orochi also shows features of Anthozoan organisms, particularly Sea anemones. It’s head has a multitude of cilia around its mouth & notable eight large tentacles, resembling a giant sea anemone when it reveals only its head above the ground. The mouth also features a series of enamel dentitions that resemble teeth that completes in a triple centripetal row down to its throat.

HISTORY
At some point Monarch had built Outpost 91 within Mount Fuji, Japan, to contain Yamata no Orochi. When Ghidorah calls all the Titans, Yamata no Orochi breaks free and begins to hunt with its new pack. When the ORCA calls all Titans to Boston, Yamata no Orochi does not arrive in time to see Godzilla become the new Alpha of all Titans, in exception of Kong.

ABILITIES

Combat
Yamata no Orochi is a Titan that prefers to attack from below ambushing it’s foes by erupting from underground & striking without the target even noticing. Its greatest method of attack is coiling it’s body around its target & gripping onto the latter using its mandibles where it will also proceed to choke the target by strangling it with its tentacles. It will also attempt to lunge from the underground in an attempt to pierce or gore its foe like a colossal javelin.

Above ground the Titan will violently peck & stab its target using its mandibles dealing serious damage but it will also use its body to whip & lash out at its foe using either its neck or tail.

Corrosive Acid
Yamata no Orochi is incredibly infamous for spewing fluroantimonic acid, the worlds most corrosive acid. The Titan has two internal sacs located in its throat, one containing hydrogen fluoride & the other containing antimony pentaflouride. Upon release these organs flood these chemicals into a muscular chasm in its throat where the contents are mixed to concoct the lethal superacid. The throat is made of a thick tissue that has a similar composition to that of polytetrafluoroethylene, the only known material that is strong enough to contain the corrosive acid.

When spewed the acid is well capable of eating through inorganic materials like glass, concrete & metal within seconds. Against living organisms has proven to be extremely detrimental reducing plants, animals & people into an unrecognisable mush. Though some Kaiju & Titans seem to be durable against the acid, in large quantities or in a concentrated stream it can potentially burn through armour plating or thick skin exposing soft flesh.

Durability
Yamata no Orochi possesses an extremely hard yet robust exoskeleton that plates it’s entire body, protecting the Titan from serious damage. These super dense chitinous plates safeguard it from attacks from both Human or Kaiju to environmental hazards like Lava or the pressure when travelling below the earth. This exoskeleton is so hard that it’s basically immune to the lethal acid that it spits.

Mandibles
Yamata no Orochi possesses two retractable mandibles that it can use as its main weapon of choice. These mandibles allow the Titan to tightly grasp onto its target making escape almost impossible. On the offensive the mandibles can be used to pierce & stab at its foe. They also assist the Titan to drill through hard surfaces enabling it to tunnel underground.

Receptive Cilia
Yamata no Orochi is a bizarre Titan of an ancient origin. It doesn’t have eyes or surprisingly a brain, yet it manages to survive for thousands of years without requiring either. Receptive cilia line the maw of the worm like Titan where it uses it them to touch, smell & ‘see’, sending these signals to a focal nerve cluster & giving a wide range view of the world around it. In a stance of ambush these cilia allow the Titan to depict foes & prey above ground making it incredibly receptive to slight changes in the wind, irregular disturbances in vibrations or when shadows lingers above it. These cilia also are attuned to the bioacoustics of the Alpha’s call through infrasound just as a Titan would Detect through the normal spectrum of sound.

Tentacles
A stretch from the Japanese legend itself, Yamata no Orochi possesses eight large tentacles located in pore like orifices on its mouth. These Tentacles sprout out at will & are tasked to carry out a variety of roles. Being prehensile they are use to coil & grasp, towards foes they are mainly used to lash out or constrict whilst guiding it towards its deadly mandibles. However they’re shown to be delicate enough to manipulate smaller entities to observe without crushing them like handling military vehicles.

These Tentacles are also shown to have distributed intelligence so to speak, where they contain millions of nerve receptors where they are attuned to the focal cluster. In other words each tentacle has a mind of its own capable of engaging in offensive or defensive forms reflexively in order to assist the blind Titan. Each tentacle also has a false head each of which has a mouth with several rows of needle sharp teeth resembling the head of an eel.

Underground Tunnelling
Yamata no Orochi is capable of burrowing & traversing through the earth using its beak like mandibles specialised claws on its body. By moving in a drill like motion Orochi can move through rock & concrete with such speed & fluidity like as if it is moving through water.
