OVERVIEW

Amazons are a renowned race of female Neo humans in which they all stem from one ancestral matriarch known as the First mother. They inhabit the Verdant South however a parallel inhabitants herald from the third Paradox Earth known as Vanirheim.

CHARACTERISTICS

As clones of the first mother, Maria Vasquez, every First daughter Amazons resembles an uncanny appearance like a flawless copy from birth to elder. Brood daughters though retaining similar physical characteristics as the First mother display trait attributes of their fathers due to pairing outside of Vanirheim’s confines, exhibiting features from other ethnicities & nationalities around the world. A common characteristic that all Amazons lack is the right breast, this is due to Maria Vasquez being born with a rare congenital condition known as unilateral amastia afflicted & heavily driven by Poland syndrome.

Gargaraens are an extremely rare case of an Amazon First or Brood daughter born as a male, though resembling the First mother Gargaraens physically traits towards an androgynous shape set to appear as a man.

HISTORY & CULTURE

Matriarchy & Gargaraens

There are two main clans of Amazons; the First daughters & the brood. The First daughters are the offsprings of the First mother, Maria Vasquez, in which all are first generation clones of their mother through the first parthenogenesis. The First daughters are highly respected regarded as an elite aristocratic generation & treated as noble born, in belief that the First mother being somewhat of a goddess figure & her daughters entitled to harnessing the highest authority of Amazon nation. First Daughters are entitled with the highest of authority granted with highest standardisation occupying roles in the councils of the tribe as grand elders or consorts to imperial powers that govern the realm. First daughters are also the only generation of Amazons to employ themselves as Midwives in which is the highest form of occupation second to the council of first daughters, tasked in the delivery & task employment of the child. The Second Daughters or Brood Daughters are the labourers & soldiers of the Amazons gaining majority of the tools & weaponry that integrates their roles of their tribe. They are completely subservient towards the First daughters occupying themselves as their personal guards & servants despite their incredibly entitled & spoilt behaviour afflicted to them, solely brought upon as a belief that the Brood are ‘dirty blood’ tainted from the union between their Mothers & men.

Bizarrely Gargaraens are Amazon males born into the tribe after 15-20 years due to a unique biological quirk unexplained even by their own race, however their destiny within the tribe are inevitably revealed to reach a tragic fate. Gargaraens are infamously revered by the Elder First daughters of the First mother to be abominations born to be too destructive to Vanirheim & a threat to all Amazons upon reaching adulthood, therefore the moment a Gargaraen is born they are immediately killed by the Midwives assigned to the birthing mother or terminated through a violent abortion. Many mothers of the Tribe would not exercise restraint to terminate their sons, some would even extend as far to terminate the child themselves before they’re even born if they caught first wind. However some Amazons aren’t as agreeable towards the needless slaughter of their sons in which they would ultimately exile their sons from the tribe in secrecy as a means to protect them, often delivering them deep within the jungles away from the Tribe only to raise the boy until they turn 3 years of age before abandoning them to fend for themselves. Many Gargaraens never reach past the age of 6 without their mothers falling prey to predators, lack of medical attention or starvation, however a small encampment of Gargaraens proved this exception as the leader of the tribe Koh’lin reached the age of 9 where he would send search parties in the retrieval of his abandoned brothers as well as grow his encampment of Gargaraens.

At random particularly the events of Fimbulventr severe fluctuations of resource availability & food scarcity would usually arise in the region of Vanirheim making large portions of the Verdant South inhospitable to grow food or support for all manner of life difficult to sustain, this is known as the Season of the Stark. Due to the unavailability of viable food sources, droughts & the aggressive flux of normally calm or docile organisms this heavily affects the natural Amazons pregnancies in which their entire cycle will take to a complete halt in egg production. During this time where some Amazons who are pregnant with daughters will automatically undergo a process known as Embryonic diapause, a bizarre biological process in which Amazon would-be mothers will completely suspend the development of their daughters while they remain in the womb. Embryonic diapause resets & reengages the development process the moment the Stark diminishes either entering the Season of Fertility or the moment conditions stabilise to normalcy.

Unlike all humans Amazons reproduce through an asexual procreation known as parthenogenesis, the reproductive process of procreation without the requirement of male fertilisation. It had been discovered that alongside other particular Neohumans of the new world a branch phenomenon of the Dynamic Evolutionary Pathfinding would influence individuals afflicted with abnormal or bizarre conditions, come to be known as the Genesis Lineage. Stemming from the First Mother the DEP:GL would grant Amazons to procreate exact clones of Maria Vasquez retaining all physical traits & attributes of their ancestral mother. • Reflexibility - The agility of the Amazon is more advanced than that of the average human, a trait which allows them to almost instantaneously respond to change by adapting to its initial stable configuration. Amazons are surprisingly flexible in which they can perform numerous manoeuvres with little effort using a combination of strength, balance and speed.

PARAPHERNALIA

Amazon bow

The bow is the traditional weapon of the Amazons that have been handed down from countless generations from mothers to daughters, in Amazon culture the bow is a symbol for survival, continuity and Vanirheim tradition. Upon completion of hunting trials & approval of the the first Elders an Amazon is allowed to craft their own bow from the bark of Yggdrasil in which is shaped to form as a wooden yet robust compound bow, using animal skin for the handle & a light yet strong fibrous material fashioned from Vanir ivy. The Amazon bow is designed in such a way to facilitate its use on & off the back of a Longma or a Verdant Wyvern. The bow is also designed to utilise an array of arrows with several coatings:

• Fire arrows - Fire coating contains flammable sap from the Neoflora the Oilpot, wrapped in a dried fabric. The arrowhead is in actuality a sharpened piece of flint in which the Archer will strike the ground invoking a spark, inevitably igniting the arrow.
