As someone whose camera can't get purple right, I find the colors awesome!
And she didn't explode the ocean...she pulled down a meteor and it splooshed! ^_^

couple days ago I went down to the beach at sunset and the sky was lit up in a way that made the sea look like quicksilver. It was remarkable, it reflected the highlights of the sunset like quicksilver too, changing as time went on.
I took a pic but... It's grainy as.

I had to try and say "aquacalypse" out loud...

Great shot! How many did you have to take until the water splashed just so?

I had it set to sequence mode so it would just keep taking them if I held the button down. So.... once I saw a splash about to happen I just held it down. I think theres 40 or 50 of them, there would have been more but the lighting wasn't so perfect for more than a few minutes

From the thumbnail it looked like you'd gone too far and were a perfect photographer, up close I see we can still be friends, because if a perfect photographer existed, I couldn't be friends with it and you're not perfect yet.
By which I mean  and wow was the sky bright or is your lens just exactly what I'm after, can you do stuff with acceptable shutter speeds (less than 30 seconds and also less than one hundredth of a second) at night? I'd like to see that, your people (Delya) would look good at night.
Delya also looks good in daylight.

Woops didn't mean to end the previous reply so soon.

I've become obsessed with fast lenses. The one in this shot was a 50mm F/1.4, though the shot was taken at 2.8. It was long after sunset, but it was enough light to make it work. The 5D Mark 2 is extremely good at low light, the higher ISO's don't produce very much grain. This shot was iso 800 I believe.

It's amazing though, at f1.4 I can take a shot of the inside of a car at night with nothing other than the dashboard lighting everything up and I can get a sharp picture.

We are going to go and retake this shot tonight if the tides and sunset line up.

Maybe someone (was going to say we) should set up a programme to liberate the DSLRs from tourists and the like and get them into the hands of brokeish photogrpahers, though honestly while I don't use full auto almost ever it's taken a long time to even get this far with knowing how to use my 450D (Kiss X2) so mostly I just put it on aperture priority or AV mode and keep that as far down as I can.
My basic intention for photography recently has been mainly to take photos of and for local (folk) musicians, especially live which means barely lit rooms, so now all my benefit money's dried up I'm going to need to find some income to get a second lens to use instead of my ef-s 17-85 which only goes to f4 which isn't great, though I noticed works brilliantly taking pictures of extremely pale gingers (such as myself and two friends I was recently on a road trip with) in snowy conditions where the snow isn't everywhere, because with all that white, everything reflects everything so all you can really expose is jackets.
ARE YOU PERFECT YET?

Dashboard lighting sharp picture

I like this photo though :3
