Hi, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Theres, not really that much to tell, 43, male, Australian and a lifelong cynic
What camera and lenses do you use?
Primarily I use a Nikon D700 and 90% of the time for people photography I use a 24-70mm 2.8G lens and occasionally a 24-120mm
Do you have any other equipment that you couldn’t do without?
I have equipment that I love using, 4 x off camera speedlights, reflectors and small battery powered continuous lights. But I don’t like to think I cant do without them. I would never want to lose the ability to do a shoot with just one camera and one lens and available light.

What lighting techniques do you favour?
while I try not to favour any too much I do love my speedlights, almost as much as I love natural light. the consistent thing I am always a sucker for is side lighting, it’s the most dramatic and gives the highest amount of natural contrast
What are your favourite things about Pinup & Glamour?
Glamour I think is such a great style because if done well it can encompass so much, it can be a lot sexier than nudes or fetish and if the balance is right more expressive as well
What’s the most impressive place that you’ve photographed?
Sydney Harbour or maybe Paris
Who would be your ultimate subject to photograph?
Scarlett Johansson, talk about natural ability, good looks and sex appeal she personifies them all. And on the occasions she does a photo shoot the results always stagger me, its easy to see its not just the photographers that are “bringing it” in the images

Who are your favourite photographers?
Ansel Adams, Helmut Newton and the other guys I shoot with regularly from here - [link]
What (or who?) is your biggest inspiration?
I guess my inspiration is a “what” and its always the image you haven’t taken yet, chasing the “epic” the “cornerstone” the “next level”
What do you think is the most important thing to keep in mind when photographing Pinup & Glamour?
the same things you would keep in mind when your doing any other shoot and then add more “sexy”
What advice would you give to someone looking to start in Pinup & Glamour Photography, or to get the best from the Genre?
read the rule book and once you have throw the book in the bin and don’t be afraid to step outside it if it feels like the thing to do, every great photographer in history broke the rules and those who criticized them at the time aren’t remembered at all
