Hi, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Nikolas and I am a Greek photographer that shoots people and whatever else draws my attention. I bought my first camera 2 1/2 years ago and since then I passionately freeze moments.

What camera and lenses do you use?
I own a Canon 5dmk2, a Canon 450D and an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic film camera. Regarding lenses, I own a 50mm f1.4 which is also my favorite, a 24-105L IS USM, a 70-300 IS USM plus a few primes for my film camera

Do you have any other equipment that you couldn’t do without?
My flashguns and my wireless triggers

What lighting techniques do you favour?
I prefer shooting indoors since I believe I have better control of light. This way I can use natural light coming in from windows etc and in combination with my flashguns and/or reflectors I can shape it accordingly.

What are your favourite things about Pinup & Glamour?
You can bring out another side of the model and surface their hidden nature out into the open. It is also a great style to study curves

What’s the most impressive place that you’ve photographed?
That will have to be Crete. For many reasons. It has so many surrealistic places plus I really like the characters you can find in the small villages

Who would be your ultimate subject to photograph?
Kate Moss



Who are your favourite photographers?
I am a big fan of David Lachapelle, Dave Hill and Mario Testino each for different reasons.

What (or who?) is your biggest inspiration?
the above mentioned photographers as well as photography sites such as DA where you can find astonishing work

What do you think is the most important thing to keep in mind when photographing Pinup & Glamour?
To have a plan and the overall idea in your head beforehand.  Experiment with light & try different angles.  Last but not least, learn from your mistakes

What advice would you give to someone looking to start in Pinup & Glamour Photography, or to get the best from the Genre?
Well for inspiration browse through magazines and photography sites. Examine the photos in every aspect. The concept, the lighting, the angles and model's posing. Also keep in mind that practice makes perfect. If you can't start with models start with your friends.
