ATTENTION EVERYONE!! There is something here for all members, not just the participants, so please read.

Now that the first round is over, we need to brainstorm a bit.

Firstly, what to do with those six weeks? Is it really necessary? Some have implied they forgot about this, others implied they only worked on their entries the last week.. This has left me to think that maybe six weeks is just too long. Even so, I'm not participating and I cannot judge how long others take to draw their entries, so I want to leave it up to you. If you all agree that six weeks is better than four, we will keep the six weeks.

Secondly, I'd like to address dropouts. Not the people, but what to do with those vacant spaces. The plan was to have everyone in one pool compete against the other and the one with the most wins is the winner of the pool. However, with people not submitting and dropping out, this becomes a bit more difficult.
The first thing I would like to know is: Those who did not submit an entry, are you still in or are you out? I know of two people who have dropped out of the tournament, but I don't know about the others. If you are planning to drop out, please tell me because then there are actions I need to take.
If those who did not submit want to drop out of the tournament, new pools will be made. Either way, there will most likely be vacant spaces. If there is just one empty slot left, there is a simple solution: I can take it and compete in the pool phase. If there are two, I can ask xDrifterr to take the second, but she's been really busy as well so we will probably have to think of some other way to fill that slot.
This is where the non-competitors come in! If you couldn't make this cycle, but do have time to make two entries for the pool phase, please let me know! You might be needed to fill the empty slot(s). So my question for you is: Are you interested in helping your fellow members out? You will not be able to go to the next phase (that wouldn't be fair), but you will get feedback like everyone else and improving your art is what this tournament is all about anyway.

Lastly, if there is anything you think we can improve on, please let us know!

Now something solely for the participants:
I noticed some of you were confused about the UTC -12:00 time zone, so let me clarify that for you. UTC -12:00 is the latest time zone in the world. I chose this so that everyone can finish their entry on the day itself without having to worry about being on time or not. So, if you submit it on the deadline date it will be on time, no matter what time zone you are in.
Other than that, the next assignment will be posted on Sunday or Monday. I hope you're looking forward to it~!

Have a nice day, everyone!

I couldn't enter this time around... but, for me, I usually take like 24-36 hours working time to complete a full picture. This time is typically spread out over the course of 1-3 weeks (depends on what's going on in real life xD). So I'd say that if you want to reduce it, perhaps 4 weeks or so would be sufficient?

As for the pool phases, I'd love to help if I could!! ^W^

It's looking like we'll definitely need someone to fill in! I'll note you later with the specifics, but please start thinking of which character you'd like to participate as. (Of course it can't be one of the characters already chosen.)

For me 6 weeks are exactly what I need. My drawings contains a lot of details, it take time to draw that, you can trust me. I think that the time depend of people and their style, and depends also of they life. If they are students, perhaps they will have exams to prepare, if they are working, they will only have evening to work on them, if they are parents, they will have child to look after. So for sure 6 weeks is good, and if some people finish before, they can still work on something else. We are not in hurry, no? So other people who has less time for that could still have enough time to work on their submission. That's what I think.

If you think that the time of the tournament is most important than the quality of the work, you can reduce it, but I (and perhaps other people) will submit unfinished or rough works.

I remember you said you needed more time, so I'm glad that the six weeks work for you :)

Quality is, of course, the most important (to me at least). Especially if the goal is to improve (there is little feedback to be given on unfinished works). But even with six weeks to prepare and draw, people will still submit unfinished / rough works because of reasons only they know xD

That's the second drawing I successed to finish in 6 weeks. I'm happy ;p That will say I improved, because I need less time ;p

For sure, even with a lot of time some people will make rough work also XD But everybody can use his time as he want, right? ;p I know that it's quite impossible for me to do something rough. I'll take some nights without sleeping if needed, but I'll finish it, I know it, I'm like that for everything ^^; But if I'm the only one who needs 6 weeks for that, I can understand that you decied to reduce it, I'll take it on me...

Good job! I'm glad you're improving 8D

So far everyone agrees that the six weeks is better for them, so I doubt it'll be changed (at least not during the pool phase).  I don't like entering something with roughs either, so I know how you feel!

I found the 6 weeks to be a good length. I know I can struggle with finding the time to work on my stuff.

Hmmm i haz an idea to lengthen the fight between artist if no one joins the slot. It will consist of two rounds. 1 round would be like this a round with a chosen monster to fight with or against the other battler. The winner of that round (chosen) will choose the conditions of Round 2 which will be against the other character of where (final fantasy location) and if any environmental detail (like the other cycles) and then the winner will go on the bracket.....but yeah just an idea
