Contest 55 - Fan Fave Princess Challenge

The long-awaited Princess contest! There will be fifteen winners in all!
There will be one section for each of the "official" princesses (also including Anna, Elsa and Moana because we all know they'll be added to the roster eventually).

The princesses allowed in this contest will be:

Snow White
Cinderella
Aurora
Ariel
Belle
Jasmine
Pocahontas
Mulan
Tiana
Rapunzel
Merida
Anna
Elsa
Moana

Please don't ask to have any more princesses added to the roster for this contest. These are the only ones we will be using. 14 sections to manage is quite enough for us.




- Your drawing for this contest must depict one princess from the list of 14.
No other characters are allowed in the picture except for one of the companions listed in the extra points section below.

- We repeat; only one princess is allowed in each individual picture, and no other characters can be in it.

- Your drawing must be a FULL-BODY drawing. That means your princess must be depicted head-to-toe.

- Every princess must be depicted as how they appear in their animated movies. So if the princess you pick has a live action counter-part, please don't draw that version.

- You can depict your princess in any of their outfits they wore in their animated movie/s. (Yes, sequel outfits are allowed as well).

- Outfits from concept art or deleted scenes are not allowed.

- Do not make up a new outfit. BUT, you may embellish or change their canonical outfits as long as we can tell where the original inspiration was from.

- You're allowed TWO entries.
Our suggestion: draw your all time favorite and then draw another one you've always wanted to draw, or help fill up sections lacking in entries.

- You MUST mention this contest somewhere in the description of your picture. If you don't mention this contest in the description of your picture, we will remove your drawing from the contest folder.

- No gender bending, race bending, species bending, etc.

- Any medium is allowed. Digital, traditional, literature, sculptures, etc. Go for it!

- Your entry must have been created for this contest. In other words, you can't enter a piece you did before the creation of this contest.  [02-18-17] (February 18th, 2017)

- Keep it clean. No nudity, gore, or nipples. NO FETISHES! G-rated, please!

- You may enter the contest even if you're not a member. Comment in this journal with a link to your entry when you're done so we can add it here.

- To submit your entry, simply submit it to our Contest 55 - Fan Fave Princess Challenge folder in our gallery!
Please do not submit it to any other folder, or we may miss it.

- And please be aware it can take up to a day for us to list your entry here/ accept it into the group. We have about 20,000+ members, so it takes us a little bit of time to get through all our messages. If you've been waiting for more than a day and a half, THEN you can send us a note and ask what's up. At any rate, your entry WILL be added before the due-date, we promise.

- When the contest is over, we'll put up a  journal with all the entries on it, and the members will vote on which ones they think are best. A panel of judges will decide on the grand prize winner from the section with the most entries.

Include a locale from the movie as a background for your image. Screencaps are not allowed. You must draw/paint it yourself. It must be a specific place. So, for example: you can't just draw Aurora in the woods or Moana swimming in the ocean. you would have to draw something like Aurora by her cottage home or Moana on her boat.
Hide an inanimate object important to your chosen princess somewhere in your picture. (examples: Snow White's apple, Ariel's fork)
Draw your princess using a talent unique to her. (Examples: Aurora's singing, Merida's archery) -- can be anything featured in the movie, even if it was only brief.
Comment on every entry in the contest. It must be a meaningful comment about the art that's at least two sentences.




14 winners from each section will be chosen by popular vote. The final grand prize winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from the section with the most entries.

The judges look for creativity more than technical ability, though both play a part.
