Misunderstanding

(unfinished)

they are blind and afraid, frustrated by their sightlessness. they think they fight to protect themselves from a dangerous 'other', something unfathomable and hidden from their understanding, but their fear is an illusion - they are the same.

The markings one the brown one are stunning and flow beautifully like clouds. The pose is simple but keeps both critters in the frame which is a nice touch. Very lovely work!

thank you for your kind words! the electric blue patterns were actually inspired by rust patterns (im unsure if it was steel or some copper alloy), but they do certainly have a cloud-esque appearance!

This is so good. Very thought provoking.

thank you! my beliefs aren't very clear in a lot of my older work, but this piece is testament to a recurring theme in my art/my way of thinking - my more recent stuff is just as conceptually confident, hopefully i can post some decent pictures of it soon.

I beleive my beliefs can be changed. To be honest- I am glad they have. I also have found a new brand of confidence.

Oh of course! I mean, we wouldn't be learning anything if they didn't change, haha. learning is one of my favorite things, so i find myself severely changing outlooks on a yearly or bi-yearly basis, sometimes faster if a lot of things are happening in my life.

I like your optimism. I think that learning is fun too. Lately I am quite receptive. An annual inventory is awesome. Nothing better than eliminating useless items. It really opens the door to new ideas.

yeah you know, i've been looking into thinning my possessions lately as well - i'm feeling less and less like i need many of them. i have had the tendency to keep a lot of things, because you never know what you might need for a sculpture, but sometimes keeping the object is much more trouble than it's worth and it clutters my brain space. not to mention i live in an apartment, so i only have one little room to keep all of it in haha! i think the weirdest accumulations i've made are a large number of really bizarre coffee mugs and dried seeds and nuts that i've found.

I used to hoard vinyl and badly needed to get some help. Im keeping on top of it now. Only two crates in my the house.

well that's good (that you've gotten the reins on it, that is)! out of curiosity, what is it about vinyl that you love?
