Now personally, I have dropped RWBY. But in full inspection of this picture I see a perfect story of change and modification. By the start of the series she was an excited and outgoing girl, but the more grim (no pun intended) happenings she sees would, to any normal human definitely change them dramatically. This is signified in the less red flashy clothes and more mellow tone of the whole picture. Which itself is drawn amazingly. And her weapon is an amazing signification of transformation from simple childhood, to complicated adulthood. Sadly, RWBY fan art is very common though. The work is absolutely amazing in almost everything other than the fact that, as I mentioned before the sheer truckloads of fan art for this series.

Lemme just say that this some really cool art that you've made which is pretty cool-looking and gives off a vibe of Ruby as a goddess of war. I really like the way you drew the light on the upper-right and the energy-blade on Ruby's weapon (?) along with the particle effects around the two light sources which is really cool and something that I'd like to try out, too.

Though I do say that there are some issues with me, like what is that texture-bit on the bottom right? Is that supposed to be the ground? It looks weird and throws me off with how amazing everything else is. Also, due to how close the weapon on her left is with the weapon (?) on her right, it looks as if they are connected to each other, which also confused me a bit until I took a closer look. Its a small nitpick, but I'm over-privileged so, yeah.

Her design, for me, is pretty bland on this angle, and I have seen your other art of your Future Ruby, like RWBY-Future: Battle, but it looks more like she's Raven Reincarnated which is pretty sad if you think about it.

It's not the first time I've seen Grimm-reminiscent armor so that turns me off slightly. I don't see the use of her having two weapons as it'be just inhibit her ability to properly utilize her semblance. I went through your other drawings and found that the one with the beam-axe is actually a scythe reminiscent of Qrow's which is both fitting and cool. There's also the issue with that bit of cloth which looks out of place. I'm guessing its supposed to be a cape on her right arm, but it would've been more fitting if she still had her red cape. It would make her more Ruby and less Raven, which I don't think Ruby likes becoming.

And this is the point that really stands for me. She doesn't feel like Ruby, not in an age thing but rather as a character. I'd imagine she'd be the one who stays the same no matter how old she gets. The dorky but optimistic red-head who could still smile even after so much has happened. This drawing, to me, is what would happen to Ruby in the worst possible route where she becomes broody, emotionless, and held back by her past and the only thing she can do now is just hunt away. Like a traumatized soldier after a war who becomes senile.

But all-in-all, this is a really solid piece of art you made, and keep up the good work.

Overall this is a beautiful artwork. Good work. Can see that your figure and forms still need more practice but the way you apply the light and shadows with good choice of colors is what makes this artwork stands out. This is one of the best out from your collections. The cloth also needs more practice as the form still appear a little flat. Really like the design of your weapons, great creativity. Would like to see more texture and you can show more contrast to make the character pops out more as now the blade is too vibrant and it stole some of the focus from the viewer.
Keep up the good work, would like to see more from you <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>

The feeling you were going for here is very clear, and you achieved it through the lighting and the red from the ax blade very nicely. The possible inspiration from RWBY is nice too, considering whatever's in her right arm and the flower pedals. So, I feel it's safe to assume you were going for a display of good color, good composition, and good figure.

So, here's my two thoughts on this:

Regarding the composition: It's hard to rag on composition for this piece because of how much design you've inspired into it. Part of me wishes the character was on the right third of the screen, and the other part doesn't want the dress to be sacrificed. Though, I think most can agree that the gigantic weaponry is the main appeal here, and that's where your eyes go to first. The wind blowing through her hair/dress is cool too, but it doesn't catch the viewer's attention as much as the ax. I dunno, I just feel like with such a cool looking weapon, it's a bit of a waste to show off so much of the same handle/grip on the upper right side, and to cut off so much of the ax blade on the lower left side. Maybe having her bend her arm a bit to show her actively lifting it would make it both look heavier (more imposing), and get it in the frame some more. Reduce how much the dress lifts from the wind to make it fit the image a bit better and perhaps move some stuff around, and there might have been more of your cool design to gaze on. That, and maybe the aspect ratio could have changed a bit.

Regarding the figure: You seem to be very proficient in painting interesting objects, but your ability to develop a good human figure alone seems a bit flat and stiff. It may be helpful to dedicate some time to studying figure drawing itself, considering that good painting and effects can never cure the drawing itself of being flawed. A good place to study is youtube.com/ProkoTV

Ultimately though, those are my only real complaints; that the figure could use some work, and the ax is cut off/should be more in the shot to improve composition (in my opinion). Other than that, the warm color scheme is great, the lighting is on point, the design is very intriguing (I mentioned it earlier, but I love seeing all these different inspirations for the piece), the textures on the metal are believable, and the rose petals being blurred out among the particles makes the whole thing come together in a really intriguing way.

Keep up the good work man.

Future Ruby? The answer is yes! This shows how much work Ruby put into her training and how much she has seen during those years. The weapon shining gives me a sense of power. She is not afraid to use it to a full extent. The petals and her cape adds a lot of originality to her other character's personality, just like Qrow has his bad-ass weapon and style of living. I feel like this is a good representation of Future Ruby in the sense that she lives on becoming better and better, while also retaining her awesome personality. Overall, I think a few brighter colors would have made this better.

This is my first critique for any art that I've seen on this site, and I have to say that this is one amazing piece. I like the darker colors that give a look and show that Ruby has matured immensely from her younger days. The same could be said about her facial expression, maybe its because she could be getting ready for a fight but I see a matured Ruby whose innocence has been taking away from years of being a huntress. It always gives off a "no nonsense" mood from Ruby.

Onto the clothes, I like them they're original yet the same as younger Ruby. Though maybe its because of the angle of the picture but it looks like instead of a cloak it looks like a shoulder cape that covers her right arm, possible reference to Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2? And the upgrade from combat skirt to a combat dress, I like it a lot.

And now the big ones, litteraly, crescent rose V2 and the Axe. Now to start it off I actually thought crescent rose v2 was the axe until I read the description. But with that out of the way I was able to tell the difference. Now I may be mixing them up but crescent rose v2 looks amazing with the energy type blade rather than a physical one. Though it doesn't look like it can change to it's sniper form. But compared to crescent rose v2 the Axe does seem a bit well average. On the other hand it looks like crescent rose v2 and the Axe look like they can combine into one super weapon which would be amazing to see.

So in all in all you have made an amazing piece that I literally can not get tired of looking at. Truly I look forward to, and can not wait for more future pictures of team RWBY if there will be made.

Holy f'in amazeballs. This is one of those pieces of fan art that jumps off the page and slaps you right in the face with pure awesomeness. I caught this in my Facebook feed and was stopped dead in my tracks. Getting down to the dirt, where to start...

Love the vision of this older Ruby you have here. Her facial expression alone... this is not the same Ruby we all know and love. No, this is a woman who has taken a few losses along the way, but still fights the good fight and it's wearing on her. Ruby has definitely grown up and is leading the fight. The design you've created for Crescent Rose 2.0 I feel says volumes of what she has seen and what awaits her in the future. I'm a bit curious as to the other forms of the weapon and just what it's capable of. Looking at the character design overall, the very first image that popped into my head was that of Saber from Fate/stay night. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but I like where it's going. This scene overall looks like it was ripped as a freeze frame from an anime - there's so much movement between the rose petals, her hair and all of the cloth and her dress - I'm wishing I could hit play and watch where the drama will take us.

Your use of color and shading shows that you've taken some time to make sure things look right here. The more I look for those small flaws, those bits that say this was anything less than perfection the more I'm drawn into this masterpiece you've created. The rays of light coming into the frame, the glow of CRv2 on her face and body... this is an image that defines a series. Well done!

Oh my god where do I start with this picture. well let's start with the fact that it's a new version of one of your Already REALLY bad-ass picture. You are already really good at drawing but i can honestly say that there most definitely has been massive improvement upon this picture. so much has changed from the original, the pose is dare I say a lot more fluid, the way the dress and hair flows feel natural in almost every sense. the crosses on the hem are a very unique touch and complementing feature on an already rather intimidating armor. the Weapons themselves look FAR more intimidating than they were in the first picture, don't get me wrong, they were also intimidating in the first but they looked a little big an rather obtrusive to be more than bad-ass. but this picture remedies that very well and makes Ruby to be a far more impressive figure, with a big axe-gun that is far more viable than that terrifying thing that is Mr. Ports weapon. The armor is stunning in it's own right, and bloody beautiful, But it's too similar to Saber's armor and While that most certainly isn't a bad thing and really fits the dark thing of the picture and Ruby as a whole, it makes me think of Fate/stay a lot more than it should considering RWBY and FATE are completely unrelated. with that said though I don't want you to change it, it really does fit in every way, just reminds me of something completely different when it shouldn't is what I'm saying.

In all I absolutely love this gorgeous piece of art and this has become my new favorite of your works.

P.S. I know I didn't really say anything about the impact but I don't think anything needs to be said <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>

This should be what other artists should make and create
When are you going to make a future Weiss and Blake
This is the greatest ruby rose art work that I have ever seen in my life
You should make more art like this it is just so cool and EX rank in quality and A++ in greatness you should also make a jaune arc, lie ren, nor valkyrie, and pyrrha nikos versions it would be so cool just to see there future self and see how cool they are and if you make them the quality rank would be EX rank and greatness would be A++ rank

Adult Ruby is amazing.  I love your design of her.
