Saito Katsuhiro has served the Owari Yagyu since he was a teenager, forming a close relationship with the family’s second son, Toshikane (Renya). When Toshikane is sent to Edo to teach swordsmanship, Katsuhiro accompanies him, but neither of them could have imagined the intrigue and misery that waits for them in the shogun’s capital, orchestrated by Toshikane’s uncle, Munenori.
