Yoriki Shima Harumitsu has been trying to arrest Okubo Gonzaemon, a samurai rumored to have raped and killed dozens of women and also the man who killed Haru’s friend Heisuke a decade earlier, but hasn’t been able to make his move because of Okubo’s influence. He finally gets a break when he meets ronin Katsu Atsuki, who was injured trying to save a young woman, Yae, from Okubo. That is, if he can keep both Atsuki and Yae alive and willing to cooperate.
