Vellians: Snowy, Snowy Night

Jinx is excited about winter for some reason.

Wasn't really sure what I was doing in regards to colours here, it doesn't really look like night but I wasn't brave enough to mess up the line work with experimental colouring.

It's okay though, if I want to revisit this I have the line work scanned separately.

I have never seen snow in real life, I'm kinda curious but Spark has told me all kinds of horror stories about the menial labour involved in dealing with snow XD

I think this is a successful night scene. If you wanted to edit it I'd just tone down the brightness of the white. Make it just a tad lighter than the shades.

I'm using copics.
I started off with some nice water colour markers but as my needs/standards expanded I started to pick up alcohol based markers, copics are one of the most common, though my friend (who is a marker specialist) much prefers letraset and tria for their colour range.

I'm a bit of a wanker when it comes to colour to be honest XD Because I'm too scared or I stuff up I rarely use bright/contrasting colours. I coloured most of this with warm and cool greys and even then I used photoshop to make everything even more grey XP.

But the elevation is too low for snow isn't it? Maybe you need to move north....*hint hint*

Thank you! It was tough to fill in without being really patchy. I tried to make up for it by filling the sky with horizontal lines and using streaky clouds to cover the effect. I'm glad you like it.
