Alternatively, "Dino appreciates her fans and friends."
Alternatively x2, "All of Dino's fans are her friends."
Alternatively x3, "Fans are friends, not food."
Alternatively x4, "You can stop this now, Dino."
YO! I honestly just wanted to make an appreciation journal for absolutely everyone on this site that makes my experience amazing. I am always just so eternally grateful for the support and friendship I find here; I'm surrounded by people I love while doing something I love!
I wanted to list a few things that may seemingly go unnoticed by me, when in reality, I take these things straight to heart, and they mean much more to me than people think. And I want to thank anyone who has done the following, or anything like it:
1) Comment on an old fic.
Are old fics always a little cringy to read? Of course. Does that make me any less happy when someone comments on them? Not one bit. In fact, I'm just so flattered that someone bothered to look through old fics of mine and find something redeeming about them, whether through the idea, plot, characters, etc. (though I do admit I still think some of my old ones are good).
2) Comment on my progress.
On that note, when people tell me I've improved, I'm like ??? Someone has been paying attention to me ??? I think that just means so much as an author to know people keep up with you, and consistently read your writing, and like, that is just so, so considerate.
3) Tell me you're there for me.
This place is often my safe haven, and somewhere I go when I'm stressed and want to write. Hearing people, who have never met me before in person, say that they'll lend a listening ear or shoulder to cry on, is an amazing gesture in itself. On more than one occasion, it's really helped me at some low moments in life, even when I didn't talk about my problems. The support itself just meant so much to me.
4) Say something oddly specific.
I love these kinds of comments-- something super thoughtful that makes me look at my own work in a different way. It just shows people actually take a solid interest in my stuff, and I'm just blown away by it. It's super thoughtful and always the most pleasant of surprises.
5) Just say hi.
I love talking to people. Whether it's a really fun tag, or just dropping a note, or posting something silly on my profile, it all makes me smile. You people have a lot going on in your lives as it is, and it's just a pleasure knowing that I'm worth some of that time.
Something to note is that I reeeeeally don't want to make this journal, "a list of things I love that boost my ego so you should do them". Yes, a lot of the time it boosts my ego, but I honestly, truly just appreciate all this, and I hope that I can pay it forward to all of you in time. Instead, I hope this journal encourages you to reach out to your friends and favourite writers, appreciate the support you have but may not recognize, and inspires someone to do these things for YOU!
Additionally, there is so much more that people on dA do for me that I haven't even touched on. So from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all so much for just being you. Ugh I know this might sound fake or something to some of you but if you know me, you know I'm actually a very sentimental person who is very appreciative and grateful to people and happy!! Seriously!!
Congrats if you've actually read this far. I appreciate that as well, since I'm a huge ranter. I mean every word of what I say, and I really just needed to get this off my chest!
Am I super cheesy? Yes.
But do I love you? Super yes.
Have a fantastic day.
Love, Dino. <3
