"How are we going to find an automated pokemon to study?" Yeaf asked the shinx standing beside her, staring up at the task board. "It's not like just pestering one will make them comfortable enough to go play chess with us or something."

"Of course not, which is why we're going to pester one we already know." Ixx grinned, turning his gaze down to her.

"You're not seriously suggesting we interview uncle Z, are you?" She grumbled, looking unimpressed.

"What?" He chuckled. "Porygon are automated pokemon, aren't they? And who better to get for research than someone you're already familiar with?"

"Ixx, he's an outlier! Not only is he a faulty porygon, but he's spent decades adapting to normal pokemon behaviour! He's about as biological as a machine can get!" She protested, her fur ruffling.

"If he's spent that long adapting to pokemon behaviour, he's obviously been adapting to someone who isn't normal. Because trust me when I say he isn't very normal by most standards." He rolled his eyes, looking thoughtful.

"Well even so, he isn't what I'd think the task is asking of us. Besides, how do we even go about documenting him? He doesn't even have any patterns!" She noted, looking confused.

"They asked us to document a mechanical pokemon, and that's what we're going to do. I've known him for long enough to know what he does on a daily basis, so it'll be easy. Anyway, don't the researchers like things that are different and unexplained? It's their job to explain things after all!"

"Fine, have it your way then. But if we get in trouble because they won't believe we actually conducted the experiment, then it's your idea, alright?" She huffed, shaking her head.

"Of course! Now, let's get going, we have a report to write!" He smirked, motioning her to follow.

"What? Don't we have to actually study him first?" She asked, appearing even more confused now.

"Please, I've known the guy for ten years now and he's used me as a power source for more experiments than I care to count. I've studied him plenty of times already."

"Ixx, we do the experiment or we don't claim to have done it at all. I don't care if you just play chess with him, we NEED to see him!" She ordered, stamping her foot down in a mild attempt to make a point.

"Alright, alright, I'll go talk to him. But if he so much as SUGGESTS that I get in one of his 'time machines' I'm outta there!" He huffed

"I wouldn't expect anything else." She smirked.
