This was taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and a single strobe during a very sunny afternoon. The lighting and shadows really helped to not only show off Johnny's amazing armor but capture the essence of that amazing world we were trying to bring to life.

      I don't know if this was a creative decision but the knight in these photos is holding the shield up side down.

      That's how the shield is held in the games. The straps are closest to the flatter top end, so that when you hold it passively, it looks like it's held backwards, but when you flex your arm to hold up the shield, the pointy bottom end faces the ground as expected.
