Do you find the Sigma easy to use? I just bought a Nikkor 105mm f2.8 macro and have yet to properly try it out.

Well, the Sigma is a bit slow on focus (like every macro lens) and the clutch mechanism of the AF/MF is just a joke. The VR in the Nikkor is said to be not so helpful in macro situations, and it's heavy and bulky compared to the Sigma. The Micro has also more than twice the price of the Sigma. I think there are better ways to spend $$$ than on the 105VR, a Tamron 90/Sigma 105 does the job as well, just as good.

Ah I didn't buy the VR. Reassuring to know that the laggy AF is usual though.

Cheers.

Great focus and depth on the ladybird. Is that a snowflake on its back?
