Sorry if you receive a duplicate alert on this-- I'm having issues with the journal utility, today. Hopefully the third time's a charm...
I recently created a paperdoll spread that is featured in this month's issue of Doll Collector Magazine. The reason I'm mentioning it here is because I wanted to share a potential opportunity with you guys.
You see, my paperdoll was based on my Snail Princess pixeldoll of a few years ago. I always liked the basic design and, when I found out that Doll Collector takes paperdoll submissions, I decided to recreate it and design a few more outfits for her.
If any of you are interested in trying your hand at paperdolls, please check out the submission guidelines at Doll Collector (you can also browse the Round Up Themes in the sidebar for future content ideas).
They're constantly looking for new work (of all genres), they pay $50.00 for accepted submissions, and all copyrights revert back to the artist after the spread has been published. But please be aware that they want unpublished material-- so don't post your finished work online unless you okay it with them first (or you may inadvertently breach your contract).
The pixeling community is one of the most creative groups of people I've ever met so I hope at least a few of you take up this challenge-- I'd love to see your dolls in print, soon!
