About Mermaid Games
This mermaid image was originally specifically created for Mermay 2019 Day 17 (Shark), also because I had found some old reference pictures I had taken a long while back and wanted to do something with. Lastly, I had run into a few tutorials online that I thought would be fun to try, hence the idea sparked. Other than the girl and the shark, the rest of the image were products of these tutorials I had read/watched online: The fins were created by following this tutorial, though the subject matter was altered quite a bit: https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-create-a-detailed-goldfish-couple-with-adobe-illustrator--vector-7986 The jellyfish somewhat followed this tutorial, though I made some changes to how the tentacles were done as I didn't want to create/use any brushes to make them (instead using a combination of segmented and "anti-aliased" strokes.
