The second in a series. (Everything I do ends up as a series. I hope this means that I'm prolific, rather than predictable and boring. :|)

___

So, should I made these available for print, or what?

One evil looking squid, that's for sure. The sort-of gothic end twirls are really sweet.

art-nuveau feel.

again, a wonderful piece! i love the way that you've used the negative space here, it really highlights the main image, frames it almost, and draws the eye in to the curves and details... again it looks as if it's been inked onto paper, there's a very gothic and... i'm trying to think of the word.. lovecraft feel to it all, which i think is wonderful :) i can't wait to see more of this series!

i much like your 'series', but i sort of see them as a whole, because its a theme almost.
of course, your minimalist approach is very good at capturing the essense of an octopus, or what we think of it.

I was going to mention the whole ink thing on teuthoidea, but I wasn't sure whether squids inked or not, and then I thought they probably didn't. "The whole ink thing" being, by the way, that these drawings have a nice inky feel, and you are dealing with inky creatures. Or, NOW you are dealing with inky creatures, at least. Did you come up with the names yourself, or are they from something? I thought teuthoidea sounded Lovecraftian, but I haven't read any Lovecraft. I've completely forgotten where I was going with this.

Oh yeah, you're definitely prolific rather than predictable. Genuinely. Never hesitate to expand upon your ideas, it always turns out well when you do. I really like this series, each work enhances the other, which is as it should be. I eagerly anticipate more, though I do not know what is next.

I think it is clear that I have had beers. :drunk:
