My first traditional piece in ages! Lots of fun have been had while working on this piece, so hope you guys like it. It´s still more a sketch taking too far than an actual finely rendered piece, but more will follow

Traditionally-looking digital art is the best. How did you achieve this effect?
Who told you this is digital? I painted this on canvas on board, so it's 100% traditional technique

What the hell!? I must have used the settings of some previous image by default, dammit.

If one looks closely, you can see the edge of the canvas at the bottom of photo..
Any tips about drawing Astartes?
Wow, that's a tricky question. Besides all the basic tips you can apply to any figure drawing (anatomy, proportions, composition, value, etc), I think it's good to think about them as walking tanks, and to keep the armor plates at a believable level of size and thickness.

Thanks man! Proportions are a bit meh in this one, but I had in mind a poster-like revision, much like the one you just published for the Night Lords. Now I want to read all the trilogy!
Well I clearly didn't mind, haha- i enjoyed it cause its the overall feel that counts and the viewer can auto correct/handwave discrepancies/exaggeration in support of the entertainment factor
