Originality Technique ImpactThis is a captivating and wonderfully classic-looking portrait that would certainly be fitting as part of a feature or advertisement in any fashion magazine.
This photo works because it is not over-complicated and the use of simple yet thoroughly sound photographic techniques have come together to bring out the best in the subject and her glorious surroundings. The superb composition, exposure and depth of field allow the viewer to concentrate on the subject and her fitting pose and expression in a natural way which is how a portrait of this kind should be.
Even the slightly uneven horizon works to bring out a feature of the subjects eyes; the fact that her stare might meet the horizon square on somewhere beyond the boundaries of the photo itself.
This portrait doesn't really leave anything to be desired and is a genuinely good specimen of the genre.
