Barytherium grave - unusual primitive proboscidean from Eocene-Oligocene of North Africa. Size of small elephant.
Cool. It looks like a mix of a hyrax and a diprotodon with a lip like a rhinoceros.
I think it's more likely that Deinotherium would've have a muzzle like this. After all, they did break off pretty early from the other proboscideans.
It is the most "extreme" reconstruction of this animal that I ever seen, and is very intriguing
