You know, I think I'm just going to call this done and be on my way. I have been working on this in a snail's pace and the main reason why is because it took a long ass time to get the anatomy right. You have no idea how bad the sketch looked and honestly it baffles me that I saw it and was like, "yeah, I guess I'll finish it." But I mean, it worked out alright, didn't it?

This is far from perfect, but I think I did a lot right and that it mostly doesn't look weird. I don't think people are really going to notice the flaws unless I point them out, which I won't. The only thing that kinda sucks is the no-background thing, but I don't see how adding a background is going to be make it better. I really need to work on backgrounds, by the by... But I'm always so lazy because I don't see it as much fun. But not being able to draw backgrounds at all isn't much fun either...

So I think this doesn't need a mature content because yeah, she is nakey, but it's Barbie doll anatomy in a completely non-sexual context. Idk... You tell me? BTW, Barbie doll anatomy is very helpful when you wanna practice anatomy. There's a tip for ya.

Edit: Actually, I think I am gonna MC just because of the prominent breasts. I am trying to be more careful, and this is not exactly racey art or anything but I just wanna be the safest I can be and not just go, "eh, well it'll PROBABLY be fine." Sure, probably, but I'd rather make sure. And what is the point of MCing something if you're not sure if minors should be looking at it, but you only put a 13+ filter on it. Sure, it's probably not the most adult of the adult looking arts, but I would rather be the safest I can be. After all, I wouldn't post this on a family friendly site. So probably not best to leave it unfiltered. That was a stupid decision in the first place.

I guess I'm calling this girl Pam, probably. She's the same creature as Acer (diamondtapir.deviantart.com/ar…), which is some sort of smooth-skinned synapsid. It's been five years since I created Acer, and I still don't know if this species is some sort of scale-less mammal-like reptile or hairless cynodont, and honestly it probably doesn't matter. Anyway, she's Acer's GF. She's the feminine to Acer's androgyny. Also she's the brick wall to Acer's wet paper towel. As in, she could kick your shit in because she has muscles, and Acer doesn't. Seriously, Acer is a lot thinner compared to that old image I made. She's like a stick compared to Pam.

I keep saying I'm not a furry, but I keep drawing stuff like this.... Hmmmm...

You gotta click on the image, because at regular size it looks blurry.

Looks good!  I thought kangaroo at first, though the muzzle is perhaps not as long as a 'roo's.  In any case, the anatomy seems very believable.  Upper legs, hips and arms are really nicely done, or so it appears to me.

Another person also said it looked like a kangaroo! There is definitely a resemblance there, though I find the muzzle on Pam is thicker and the ears are longer and wider. I actually don't think I've ever really drawn a kangaroo before, haha.

Thank you! I tried to make it look as natural as possible. There needs to be more female characters with realistic anatomy out there, in general.

Sounds good -- I love kangaroos, so I tend to see them where they aren't!  And I definitely agree about there needing to be more female characters with realistic anatomy...  I don't know how some of them can stay balanced on two feet, if you know what I mean!

Maybe I should draw one - that would certainly be different.

My spine hurts just looking at some female characters. I don't know why people think drawing women with broken backs and balloon breasts is attractive.

I'd have to encourage you to try it!  :-D

And yes, I don't get it either... Sometimes I legitimately wonder where that taste comes from, like, how do you get to the point where something so exaggerated becomes a turn-on?

It just looks so gross and fetishy, and yet it is so common place, even among skilled artists. I know why it's happening, but if I was more naive, I would be baffled. People will also defend it by saying, "it's just their art-style!" but even stylized art has to be anatomically correct... Or else it's just, wrong.

No argument here -- and there *is* a hell of a lot of it.   I'm an old-school straight guy, but I sometimes wonder if there's something wrong with me because I can't feel much appreciation for this stuff =P (Razz)

I would argue the problem is not with you, but the general perception of women. You also tend to see a lot of men drawing women that way, implying that it does stem from a lack of understanding about how female anatomy works, so instead of learning how to do it right they just mess it up further. And they can get away with it and still be seen as competent artists, because people do it all the time. Although I do see women drawing women like that too, and that I can't understand. That absolutely baffles me. Of course, men and women both tend to do weird shit when portraying whatever they perceive as attractive people... Weirdly Small Waist syndrome is everywhere for both male and female characters and it's, well, fetishy looking and bad.
