Act 4. Creation of Adam

Zeus summoned Prometheus and gave him a solemn task. He was to fashion the first mortal man of the Bronze Age, one who would serve as the progenitor of the new race of men. This mortal was to be shaped in the general likeness of the gods, but without their power or immortality. Prometheus accepted the commission and descended to the mortal world in search of suitable material.

In a quiet grove near the edge of the world, he found a patch of clay that still held warmth from the fires of creation. He mixed it with clean water and worked it carefully, forming limbs, torso, and face. He gave the figure strength, balance, and clarity of vision. Once the body was shaped, Prometheus breathed life into it. The man opened his eyes, stood upright, and took his first breath as a living being. Prometheus named him Adam.
