HOW do u price commissions adkgksd I hav no idea how Im gonna do this ._______.

Im gonna do a completed pic of Latte so I can get a furry example n hopefully wont spend 38748 hours on it so I can actually finish the commissiosn in reasonable amounts of time bc Ik some ppl say charge minimum wage or something like the amount of hours u work on it (??) but Like if that was true I would literally b charging like a million dollars 4 each commission bc I take 4ever.......l..ol

But like how do u charge it...like...if I took Idk 2-3 hours per commission would I charge minimum wage 4 each hour??? That seems like 2 much......I need 2 learn 2 draw faster..(I might b able 2 draw faster now actually but I Dont Know.....)

The worst thing an artist can do is undersell themselves, so avoid that before it happens

Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to cheap you out for a cheap commission! remember, you're providing a service that takes time and effort, so price it how you want

honestly, just starting out and with your artstyle I'd say for a single full colour character you can easily ask 30 - 40 dollars per piece

Aaaa someone saying they think my art is worth so much makes me rly rly happy jrdjfksjf ty so much ahh ;___; I hav never done this b4 so Im rly excited fnmsm thank u so much!!! I will try not 2 undersell myself!

What do u think tho if like the commissions r somewhat experimental?? Like Im pretty sure I wouldnt stray from my general style (at least not b4 checking w the commissioner) but Im mostly talking about coloring techniques n stuff since I want 2 improve that, like Im kind of wanting 2 incorporate softer shading rather than completely all hard shading and I feel like Im learning a lot of different stuff each time I draw bc this is the first time Iv rly gotten serious about my art...so any experiments would b me developing my style but Im not sure what I would charge or say about it???

Haha no problem man :D

You can write it out simply somewhere saying that any further details like the artstyle and such can be discussed through email, as it usually is with commissions. For example you can offer your Frosslass image as an example of a softer style, plus the hoopa and rotom image as another

Offer sketches and flat colours as well, put it up on tumblr too and just draw draw draw, word will spread and people with the money WILL commission you, you just gotta take it easy on yourself y'know? Don't take more work at a time than you can handle and you'll have a good time B-)

I actually meant like.....softer shading like using a whole diff technique like not uhh cell shading if my stuff is even cell shading?? I might try 2 do what Im talkong about in the pic Im working on rn but I hope that makes sense...it is verh hard 4 me tho hahahahhah......

But yeah!!! I was planning on puttng something on tumblr so as many ppl as possible could think about commissioning me bc I RLY need 2 make a little money...Im trying 2 help my gf get a computer n neither of us have any way of rly making money except this rn x__x Aaa but yeah Ill probly open 2 or 3 slots 2 start and maybe have a waiting list bc I dont wanna get burnt out!!!! w@

Oh yea no I get what you're saying haha, just using them as examples :D once you have images showing off the different styles you wanna draw in you can use them as examples and such, but yea offering different shading styles like cel shading or a smoother style is a great thing to do

Yea that sounds totally reasonable, just remember to keep your commission info simple and to the point, and never let anyone talk you down about your prices. You set them so you gotta uphold them

Honestly, the best advice I think I can give is at first what you rate your art. then maybe tweak it depending how others rate your quality.

personlly
i price mine 10-20$ bc i have noticed anything above that
people dont want to pay bc theyr cheap bastards
pretty much

the cheaper they are- the more commissioners you'll get at once
the more expensive - less commissioners over long periods of time

i kinda see artists try and price their art at 30 - 40$ and lmao
no one wants it, not that its bad art
just gatta try and be everyones price range the best you can

thats just my opinion tho o_o

Oo ya Ik what u mean urg I wish ppl werent so cheap...like I wouldnt even have much of an issue w charging less if I just could draw more quickly but thats rly difficult 4 me >___<

But also at the same time the commissions I open like Soon will probly be partially experimental bc I like 2 experiment in my stuff a lot lately so IDK I will probly post somethin about this again after I finish the fur example since Idk if that would b a different price than a pokemon pic BUT I also was thinkin poke commission prices might depend on wat kind of pokemon they want me 2 draw bc like drawing a pikachu would b a lot easier 4 me than like a garchomp,,,,,

yeah, yeah that makes alot of sense i mean like, drawing a basic af pokemon like jiggly puff would be much different compared to a super detailed legend or something. >_> a good tip tho, try and keep things simple
in the past iv added way too many commission types and it really makes things stressful

hgfgh mine are £15 a piece if that helps i usually take 2-3 hours too, but im under 18 so im not even old enough for a job so i don't really pay attention 2 minimum wage
personally i think you should go for around £15-25, just whichever sounds best 4 u (srry its not in dollars hgjdhgkd)
