great shot! I love the way the light is highlighting it's antlers

Thanks... just the sky, no sun, it was misting and some
light snow fluries.. 30 degrees

woah - these are so much more massive than our delicate Mule deer buck...wonderful capture of his form and colors!
DGAnder's avatar
Yes indeed, this guy is likely 1200-1500 lbs. Big mule deer is 150.

Great shot! Is that snow falling? It's really lovely! The comp is nice...and very sharply rendered subject, too!
DGAnder's avatar
Yep, a lite snow is falling, around 32 degrees so
quite chilly.

Very nice shot! Love the clarity of this. :)

Thanks, me too. :)

This is a solid shot! Nice work!
DGAnder's avatar
Thanks Larry! One of my favs. spitting snow and
some light drizzel, so low light and higher iso than
I would have preferred, but even at 20x24 it still
holds together.

One of the best I've seen. I'd love opportunities to photograph large mammals.

Nice job capturing him in mid-"moo".
I don't know exactly what sound an elk makes, but it looks like it's a "moo"-ish one.
DGAnder's avatar
Diffintely not a moo. More of a bugle call
chewtoy25's avatar
Interesting. Many animals can make a variety of strange sounds, no?

Anyway, nice capture!
