Hello hello! Welcome to the FAQ 2.0! We have segregated the FAQ into 4 categories:

Q. Can the species interact with other species / humans?
Dextros can typically interact with all NON-HUMAN entities. They can travel to other planets but they live on their own homeworld.

Q. Who can Dextros mate with/be shipped with?
Anyone but please respect the lore though! (regarding canon interactions we disallow this for the mess that is copyright! For instance shipping your Dextroluma with Anime characters, sonic, established characters basically.)

Q. What clothes do they wear?
Dextros who are of older cultures wear outfits made from foliage: flowers, leaves and vines decorate their clothing. Younger Dextros have adapted human fashion and trends into their clothing styles, as they have been exposed to human culture very early on in life.

Q. What are the burial customs of this species?
Death amongst Dextroluma is a very rare occurrence. Elaborate ceremonies are held to honor and respect deaths, except if the death is tied to corruption.

Q.What level of tech do they have?
Dextroluma do not have many technological advancements, but the more curious and technologically inclined individuals tend to study the tech of other cultures and species. Most Dex show disinterest in tech though, as most are nature inclined.
An exception of this would be the Delta/Hyperspace Dextroluma which use a numerous array of tech.

Q. How advanced is their medical field?
Unlike their primitive technology, Dextrolumas pride themselves in their scientific and medical advancements: they even have known cures to necrosis.

Q. Where did corruption originate?
Corruption started in an unknown origin away from the mainland when Dextro traveled around to look for new lands and food.

Q. Are those corrupted allowed to have children?
Corrupted Dextros are sterile, and therefore cannot reproduce themselves. They tend to kidnap Dextro children and corrupt them while they are young. Tough world.
*Note: You CANNOT “kidnap” other people’s Dextro! You may use this “kidnapped child” status as a “label” of sorts on pre-existing Dextro though (like on an MYO slot, etc).

Q. Can a cured corrupted carry/make children?
No. Unfortunately, cured Dextros remain sterile.

Q. Where do Dextros live?
Dextros live on a large homeworld planet which features several different climates! They tend to visit the other climates they do not live in, but they must be sure to pack some of their own climate grown mushrooms which give them a healthy glow!

Q.  What effects does corruption have on the body?
Corruption cuts lifespan by only a few years, depending on the intensity of the infection. When cured, Necrosis is still evident in the body through the greying of eye color. The spread of the disease is halted, but the Necrosis is never fully taken away. A reinfection would only aggravate the infection more: stages of corruption would occur at a much faster rate.

Q. What's their average lifespan?
A normal, healthy Dextro lives for about 500 Years. Corrupt Dextroluma get a few years knocked off. Fully infected Dextroluma will result in death with no regard to age.

Q. Can Dextro reproduce?
Yes they can! Non corrupted/non cured dextros carry their young to term in the womb for 9 months before birthing. Witch doctors and alchemists can inhibit this process. Dextroluma birth an average of 2 children. Twins are uncommon, but not unheard of.

Q. Do Dextro have pupils?
They do! Dextros have poor eye sight though, so use their other senses to guide them. Their luminous nature make it hard to clearly make out the pupils…

Q. Do Dextros produce other types of glow aside from bodily/external?
Dextro tears seem to glow only because the light of their eyes reflect off the droplets. Dextro blood, organs, and other fluids glow the same colors as their fins as well!

Q. How do Dextros develop their spots?
Spots can develop over time. On the other hand, Dextros can be born with thousands of them or very few!

Q. For the flower mutation trait, can it be any type of plant/flower ?
Absolutely! Any flower/plant! Remember! Mushrooms are NOT flowers/plants! They are fungi (Stage 5 necrosis).

Q. Is it possible to have more than one mutation? Such as extra limbs + dual tails?

Q. Can mutation traits occur in normal dextros without needing to be corrupted?
Yes! It can appear in any type of Dextro!

Q. What's the difference between Stage 5 Mutation and the Flower mutation?
The difference being in that Stage 5 they will physically feel the pain as it becomes one with their body, limbs and organs.
They are close to death and very weak and will die from this.

In normal dextro it just sprouts out of the wound so it sort of acts like a scab in a way. They will feel slight pain but nothing drastic and it'll heal back soon after.
These flowers/plants will also glow along with their blood.
Please note the flowers only sprout from the wound and not internally.THEY WILL NOT DIE FROM THIS.

Q. Is it possible to cure Stage 5 Necrosis?
Absolutely not. They are able to survive if living off of the mushrooms that first corrupt them. If they cannot do this, it will end in death. Stage 4 is when Necrosis becomes incurable.

Q. How did you think of the species?
It wasn't originally going to be a CS. It was just my OC Iola and it kinda expanded from there. I loved the idea of a mermaid/humany type thing and fins on the skin are a weakness! Aliens and outer space were a big help too. I love all things glowy and I just merged everything together and VOILA!

Q. Can I resell my Dextroluma?
Please see this journal for more information
Reselling, Trade + AppraisalsReselling rules are being altered! We have decided to make the big change to allow those to get appraisals on their Dextroluma, providing of course
you show us proof of any purchases that you have made! Please take a good read of the changes we're implementing below to get and idea of how
things are going to work starting from today! (7/5/19) We're very happy to finally sit down and implement these changes as we only think it's fair!
Rules, TOS, Things to know:
1.) To resell your Dextroluma for more than you paid we require you to submit an appraisal form, once this has been approved. Dextroluma reselling for base price do not need an appraisal. You will need to screencap our message
and add it along with your resell journal/post/etc so people know it is not a scam!
2.) We require people to read all journal posts for reselling before hand to make sure you are not being scammed. If you are
unsure, please ap

Trading Dextros are allowed but they must be owned for at least a week.

Buying Dextro to keep as trade fodder is highly discouraged. Please give chance to other people who will actually use the design!

Q. Do I have to notify you if I trade my Dextroluma?
Please notify me, or the group via the masterlist!

If you've been traded a dex please register them here!
(you can also notify of changes here as well!)

Q. How are redesigns done?
Redesigns are allowed as long as it resembles 80% of the original design. Color changes are fine so long as there isn't anything too drastic. Fin, freckles, bauble colors must all end up the same color. Traits must stay exactly the same, unless new traits have been purchased. Please submit redesigns to the group for approval! If you want to redesign them entirely you may use a MYO slot to do so! There are no limitations this way.

Hi!  I'm currently planning on buying a dextroluma being resold and had a question on "color changes must be kept along the same palette".  What does that mean, exactly?  Like say I wanted to take a yellow dextroluma and make her pink - as long as the traits are staying the same and the fins/freckles/baubles all match, would that work?  Obviously you'd have to see it to approve, but the use of "palette" just has me confused, so I want to clarify!

As long as the Dextroluma stays at least 80% similar to their previous design we can allow the change, I agree it is a little confusing and we are altering that!

But say for ref, you wanted to change and Orange Dextro pink, but also alter the color of the hair, and or fins we would disallow it as it's basically a new design that would require a MYO slot.
If you're just changing the skin color that's 100% an okay change

Ok, that makes sense!  One question on the fins, since on the species info sheet/in all the ones I've seen, it looks like parts of the fins are skin color and parts are the specific fin color (ie DEXTROLUMA: SPECIES GUIDE *NEW* it shows grey bits (skin) and blue bits (fins)), so, to clarify, if I am changing the skin color, the parts on the fins that are grey on the species guide can be changed, and the parts that are blue cannot?  I just want to be sure I only edit the skin when I edit, then!
Lunathyst Featured By Owner Aug 17, 2019  Professional Digital Artist
Yep that's correct! If you're changing the skin color you must also alter that 'grey' bit on the fins too! And if you were just changing the fin color you just alter that 'blue' <3

Where would I post that I’m looking for a designer :0
Vioclipse Featured By Owner Apr 16, 2019  Professional Digital Artist
if you make a journal and submit it to the misc folder people might apply or you can look around the community for who has customs open!

uhh, some more questions ^^'
I have a myo and really thinking to make it from air region, but accordingly to the species info they have "soft, airy halo on their arms, legs and horns". Is there any design including this feature so I could see how they look?
This myo includes mutation too, can I use as many traits as I want or just 1 and would have to get another mutation slot for the others? let's say I want dual fin color and dual tails
Lunathyst Featured By Owner Mar 11, 2019  Professional Digital Artist
Hey love! Sorry for the delay in response ^^ <3
Here's some examples of the airy halos! they are basically a softer circle which circles the limbs, horns! So I doubt you could mess it up >V< <33
We have very little MYO / Adopts with the example so I'll just share here <3
They would match their fin colour <3

Since it includes mutation yes you can use as many as you like! ^_^ <3 No excess slots are needed
Junneshi Featured By Owner Mar 11, 2019  Hobbyist Digital Artist
no problem! ^^
that's all I needed to make sure, thank you so much for clarifying :D <3

Not a problem ^^

I have some questions about redesign, got my first dextros pending on a trade and want to make sure can I do these changes when they become officially mine :3
I know already that clothes and hair are fine, so no worries
can horn shapes be changed since only their quantity is a rarity?
can I add a weapon to a corrupted dextro as lore implies they are aggressive n' stuff?
SimplyDefault Featured By Owner Jan 14, 2019
Hello hello! How wonderful, good luck on your trade <33

Horn shapes can be changed minimally, just don't change the shape and stuff too drastically (I'll confirm this with the other mods asap!).
Just let us know what you are planning and don't forget to submit the redesigns to the group for approval!

As for the weapon, giving them one sounds like a rad idea! Totally allowed <3
Junneshi Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2019  Hobbyist Digital Artist
ahh good to know ^^ thanks for the info
at the case I was just wondering to make one pair of her horns a bit more stretched and curved, so the other kinda "fits" under it
SimplyDefault Featured By Owner Jan 15, 2019
That is totally fine <33 Happy re-designing!

thanks a lot! <3
