Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Great and Terrible Tiffany The path around Cerulean was a straightforward one. It was one road with fences that rose on either side, quietly coaxing any travelers out of the city. “How long will it take to get to Saffron?” Flare asked Jazz, padding along beside her. “I want to see if it’s as big as you were saying.” Jazz chuckled and rubbed his head. “It’s even bigger, trust me. But it should only take a few hours. If we keep on going with no stops we should get there a little after nightfall. If my figurings are correct, of course.” “Which means we’ll b

The swelling was all but gone, but the skin around the stitched wound was various dark, sickly colors. “Well, those teeth punctured pretty far. It takes the body a while to heal from such trauma,” Nurse Joy said. “How is it feeling?” She pressed her thumbs against the skin, gauging the flesh’s tenderness. “Still sore as all heck,” Jazz said, flinching a little. “But it’s less achy when I use the arm and I can move my fingers without s

Chapter Twenty-Five: Beware the Spirits of the Water Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. That mantra kept going through Jazz’s head as the battle between her and Misty raged. Victor had told her that morning to repeat those words if she felt herself losing focus. It was definitely helping keep her nerves in check. Victor had only been hit a couple of times thanks to her direction and his natural skill, but Misty’s Staryu was still going strong and attacking relentlessly. “Victor, use that terrain to block the attack!” she yelled, sweating as Melusine charged up another Water Pulse along the side of th

Chapter Twenty-Four: Maiden of the Water The air hung heavy with the nose wrinkling scent of chlorine. The squeak of feet against tile echoed into the high ceiling as Jazz and her team entered the Gym. Two giant pools stretched almost the entire length of the room before them, filled with water loving swimmers. A strip of floor was cut between the two bodies of water, leading to a pair of swinging doors that cut off view to a back room. Tremors swept through Jazz’s body in time with her rapid heartbeat. This would be her second Gym battle. She’d been through this before, but that didn’t soothe her nerves, or lessen the adr

Extra #2: How Jazz Came to Be Pallet Town was a quiet, sleepy town. Not much happened there and that’s how most of its residents liked it. The town was an ideal place to raise children. Almost all the parents knew each other so they didn’t mind letting their kids run about unsupervised. One little girl didn’t take that opportunity. Eight year old Jaslynn was jumping about her room humming a little tune. She grabbed her beloved Charmander doll, Char Char, from her bed and spun round and round, grasping his little hands. She laughed as she tossed him up and he plopped onto her head. “Charmander used Fly!” She gra

Extra #1: A Shocking Friendship It was the height of summer. The air was thick and humid; making skin sticky and the heat had most panting like an overheated Growlithe. Ten year old Miguel didn’t mind, though. Summer just meant he got to go to his most favorite place in the world; his grandfather’s home. It was just a small cabin tucked away in a patch of woods near Fuschia City, but it was the greatest place in the world to spend the hot, school-less months. Not because he could goof around in the forest or be one with the Magikarp in the rivers, but because he got to spend time with his idol, his grandfather. The wooden floors

Chapter Twenty-Three: Finding Your Center The sun had just begun to rise over the mountains, casting Cerulean City in early morning shadows. The air was crisp and cool and smelled of crystalline water and the earthy hills. The city was just beginning to wake, but a few had risen even before the sun. “And stretch out, as if welcoming home a loved one you haven’t seen in years,” Victor instructed, extending his leaves in front of him. The others were lined up before him and mirrored his movements. “This feels so good,” Jazz murmured, feeling her muscles lengthen and loosen. She was really glad Victor had mention

She gnawed on her bottom lip as she watched Bill the Clefairy typing away on his computer. He was using more of a hunt and peck routine since his fingers were so small. To add to Jazz’s irritability Bill felt the need to prattle on as he worked. “I’ve been working for days trying to hash out a program that will let me activate the teleporter from the inside. Almost everyone had evolved at least once. Pride blossomed in her chest, making her grin like an idiot. “Only Huey can fit on my shoulder now. Chapter Twenty: Of Journeys and Dreams The last couple of days had been terrible to Jazz. Her body ached and throbbed, a lingering exhaustion shadowed her every action and she was no doubt going to have nightmares from her encounters with Team Rocket. She should have been a mess, but she was quite the opposite. She was happy. Elated, in fact, and thought the day had turned out perfect. Why? Because for the first time since her journey began she had a full team. Six team mates to travel and fight with. No one could be grumpy on a day like that. New Obsession

New Obsession

Okay, so I have been very inactive. Bad year creative wise. I've had a big ol' Writer's Block for about a year, not really able to write anything, especially my main project Moonlight Denial. Blergh. Well, I have a new obsession that may get my writing gears going again. Nuzlockes. Yep, Pokemon Nuzlockes. I've become obsessed with Nuzlocke comics and so wanted to make my own. I thought about trying my hand at an actual comic, but decided to write the story instead since that's my fortee and it may just clear up what's clogging my creative process. So, check out my Nuzlocke "Over the Green Horizon" and tell me what you think!

Mint: Oh wow, major blushing going on over here! Thank you so much. That makes me so incredibly happy to hear such kind things from you. It's so wonderful to know how much you like my work ^-^ With the copywriting I have a couple different things. The major one is that I printed out the book (yes all 1017 pgs) boxed it up and sent it to myself. With the stamp on it from the post office it proves when it was shipped to me in case someone tries to steal the work later to prove I had it first. I also have it saved on a cd that I've been slowly saving the past 4 years and a flash drive that has the dates logged into it the days they were written

Mint: Thank you! Lol that poor guys sweat glands were just in overdrive. Yeah, you sweat it out for a reason, I don't think it should be used for cleaning anything! Yes! I love the suits. I was sure even trained Nicoli and Amelia could get squished at any point by one good hit, so they needed a good way to be protected while fighting. Lol well, luckily for Nicoli he told his parents that he wanted to experience the world before going to college. Even if his parents think he's been gone long enough there's not much they can do to make him come home until he's ready to, so they'll just keep thinking he's trying to get adventure out of his syste
