Theme for Windows 10 RS2 aka 1703 Creator's Update

How To:
You'll need your system patched with UX Theme Patcher.

Ultra UX Theme Patcher:
www.syssel.net/hoefs/software_…

You'll also need 'Start Is Back' to apply the start menu & taskbar style & 'Old New Explorer' for windows explorer to look exactly like it is in the screenshot.

Start Is Back:
startisback.com/

Old New Explorer:
www.msfn.org/board/topic/17037…

Installation:
a.Extract the contents of the Theme folder & copy them to:
C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
b.Use the 'Add Personalize Classic' registry file in zip to add option to desktop right click menu.
b.From right click menu go to:
Personalize(classic)>Theme settings
& select the theme.

Additional:
Check the 'SiB Settings' screenshots included in the zip for theme specific settings in Start is Back.
If you want to use system transparency, download the program here:
mega.nz/#!6RQwUIbL!LbEOptbEZ1a…
Instructions are included with it.
Recommend setting transparency level to 252 for this theme.

New Bugfix:New
Getting rid of white areas in themes after coming out of lock or sleep in Windows 10
Windows 10 loads theme color defaults from:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\DefaultColors] after every lock/sleep/hibernate.

Hence
any time you put your pc to sleep/ hibernate or use Ctrl+Alt+Del to go
to the lock screen & then resume back to windows,
certain areas of
task manager & other windows turn white while using custom dark
themes

Fix:

Open regedit & navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\
Under themes you'll find a folder/registry key called: 'DefaultColors'
Make a backup of that key, take ownership of it, and then delete that whole key.
The bug should be fixed now.

Enjoy.

Please update to windows 10 fall creators update rs3, thank you.

to the best of my knowledge.. this theme should apply fine on RS3 as there has been no significant changes made by MS to the UI & UX files on this update ... so all rs2 themes are directly compatible to RS3 provided you have your system patched to apply third party themes... could you try and apply the theme?? it should work.
Thank you for the tip, I've tried it a few minutes ago. It works but not properly.

Take a look at my screenshots:

The settings background color (first image) doesn't match, how do I solve it? There's only light and dark option for coloring the background.

And the personalization panel (second image) doesn't fit the colors.

Any idea?

you'tr not using Old new explorer or Start is back?? Maybe give this utility a shot & see if thus works for you???

Thank you, I've tried winaero, it looks great again. But is it able to change the default app color background to than light or black?

i havent tried rs3 yet so im not 100% sure ... but I believe that those are the only options available now starting with fall update
I've googled a little bit and I've found the following:
Windows 10 RS3 has two options for app mode color: light and dark.

The values can be also set manually, changing 0 to 1.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize]
"AppsUseLightTheme"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize]
"AppsUseLightTheme"=dword:00000000

I've noticed that your infusion x style background color grey is under the light background. When you set up light as app mode color, infusion x's color is under the light app present but not visible.

It could be probably possible to disable light and dark app mode completely and we would receive grey color as example.

I've found also this explanation at microsoft:
docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windo…

I hope that somebody can manage to change the app mode color so that everything looks like one visual style.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize]
"AppsUseLightTheme"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize]
"AppsUseLightTheme"=dword:00000000

these settings were there even on earlier releases of win 10 i know that this program does some modifications of the accents... take a look here, the keys for registry is mentioned in the description:

Its the Windows 10 Firewall Control (no ,its not the default firewall from windows 10,its a free software)

okay ill look into it .. meanwhile any other problem of such nature in any other parts of windows please let me know

Im using the theme and i like this one,but when i lock my PC,sleep/hibernate or hit ctrl+alt+del to open task manager,it shows up the default theme on some things (the white theme) of the windows. The ones i notices so far are the task manager ,it becomes white, and the windows explorer ,the text on the left becomes black.

It worked,thanks man/gal,you are a lifesaver.

The only thing i did different but which had the same effect on the end,was that i renamed the DefaultColors instead of deleting it or Backup,i renamed to "DefaultColors (REDACTED)" for example.

And also a bonus for those who had the same problems and did as you said but use the Classic Personalize menu and switch the Default Color from there and notice that when you lock the PC or whatever and the color resets to default or a pink color, this is the solution: You just need to switch the color via the Personalization menu from the Windows 10 and then it will be ok.

But anyway, until this moment i had no problems with the solution you gave me,but if some problem shows up i will update here.

EDIT: You should rename the "Standard" folder instead of the DefaultColors for the Color Scheme you chose to work.

glad to know that... (its man by the way..  xD )

hmm okay ill  look into it & see where the problem is, hopefully fix it & re upload a new version.. I'll let you know when I've gotten it done

There is another thing too,but i dont know if you did it on purpose: The taskbar has a little blank space between the icons and the startmenu icon that you cant use. For me it seems a waste of space on the taskbar.

And if you want,i can send printscreens of both problems.
devillnside's avatar
the taskbar thing is intentional however if you can post screenshots of the task manager problem it would definitely help
Veyghard's avatar
Well,i understand why you would leave this blank space on the taskbar, but my advice is that you should at least leave a alternative version of the theme without that blank corner for those who dont want it that way,but its okay if you dont want to.

maybe when i update the theme next time:) (Smile) ;) (Wink)

I assume you have OLD NEW EXPLORER installed & setup, right? If not, you need 'Old New Explorer' for that. There is a link & screenshot in the zip inside the Installation Guide & Readme folder.. it's a free software & once you download, if you have problems setting it up, let me know.
Hey,
nice theme.
How do you get that taskbar and explorer style?
Looks very nice :)
