Major Douglas Frasier

An officer in the well-respected mercenary brigade 'Caledonian Claymores', based on and sponsored by the Commonwealth planet Covenant. He wears a combination of rigid and soft armour protection over regular field dress.

Settled by colonists of Scottish descent, Covenant’s rugged terrain, harsh climate and political structure along feudal and clan lines has made it a prime breeding ground for the Commonwealth’s soldiery. With the limited opportunities for social advancement and land ownership, many younger sons and daughters opt for an offworld career in the military. While the majority usually enlist with regular Commonwealth units, the rowdier, more independent-minded characters usually end up in mercenary units, whether independent or state-sponsored. In fact, a significant percentage of Covenant’s GNP is from the revenues of mercenary units that it sponsors.
