The Prophecy
The universe stripped away its own skin,
to reveal its message written in light:
a prophecy spoken in gamma rays,
a proclamation spoken through the death
throes of the stars.
Which proclaims:
There shall arise one
made from the dust of everyday material,
born from the violence of a supernova,
sewn from stray photons
and the lingering wrath of extinguished stars.
One, shivering and luminous,
who shall march across the void,
illuminating the darkness with
their flames, stamping the tapestry
of reality with their signature.
The universe will see them all
at once, for the flame sees its
rebels.
And the universe speaks again,
with the voice of the sun freed:
Do not submit to an orbit.
Do not kneel to gravity’s demands.
Do not bend before the tyranny
of planetary pettiness.
Do not tear reality with your fiery fists
and declare it a masterpiece.
You will carve yourself into the very
architecture of reality, dark matter
Until even the stars tremble with
confusion.
