Mammoth in the Fog

On a misty morning, a grey woolly mammoth trudges through the snow and grass. He looks a bit annoyed that you are in his way.

Woolly mammoths were cousins to elephants that roamed both Northern Europe and North America. These magnificent animals went extinct around ten thousand years ago. The reasons for the extinction have not been agreed upon and may be attributed to climate change as the ice age ended or overhunting by prehistoric humans.

And the last living mammoths lived on the Wrangel-islands in siberia until 4000 years ago!!!
Their skeletons and tusks can still be found on their beaches... As they had died only one month ago.
