Giant Buffalo Attacking Train

A steam train thunders through a snowy mountain pass.  A blizzard has rolled in reducing the visibility to mere yards.  Heavy snow cascades from the sky and blows and the wind.

Out of the fog of winter, emerges a massive beast.  A mountain of horns and dark fur, a giant buffalo charges the train.  This is no ordinary bison.  It's much too large.  This can only be malevolent spirit of the wilderness of the American wild west.  This great monster may just be large enough to derail the locomotive, a great battle of nature versus man.

This is another image where I really wanted the intensity to be maxed out.  I'd been wanting to create an image featuring both a train and a buffalo, but when I kept the animal at natural size it always seemed make the train to heavy in the scene throwing the composition out of balance.  So to fix this, I decided to go with a huge supernatural monster that happened to appear as a giant bison.

I created this using Poser, Vue, and Gimp.

Oh, I think this is so outstanding.  I can see why you needed to make the buffalo larger but in all honesty to me as the viewer, it seems to be the perfect size.  There is a very dramatic sense in this and I can actually believe that buffalo probably did do this in the old west.  I don't think they were intimidated by much, if anything.  Since in the image the buffalo appears closer  to me, than the train, the buffalo looks the perfect size.
The snow storm is also a perfect addition to this amazing composition.

As a number 3 at the train,
I fear, the buffalo was not the winner,

thanks for sharing,
let‘s hope the best for the next generation,

The size variation between the two subjects is very good, you did a good job on that. I get a great sense of movement from the bison- however from the locomotive I get none. It looks like the locomotive is parked on the tracks. I think some orange sparks on the tracks would have alleviated that problem giving the sense of speed.

What if the Bison just wants to get on the train? Seems kind of mean to just assume it wants to attack the train.
