Myra, being spiritborn, has multiple spirits bonded to her and she inherits the skills, experience, and magic of all the spirits bonded to her. This is why the spiritborn were created to be living weapons, but one spirit named Eevul was once a powerful sorceress and Eevul has no intention of sharing her magic with Myra. No, Eevul wants Myra's body for herself and the young girl can succumb to Eevul's possession if she succumbs to her negative emotions or is severely weakened.

Excerpt on Eevul's Story

“The political situation in The Order’s Kingdom must have been an act of God as it gave Fei the opportunity to gain powerful allies against The Guardians. The Order’s Kingdom was strong, even at this time, their Kingdom was well established with palaces and such and they even had schools where they taught magic to people in their territory. They were easily the strongest human civilization and The Guardians paid them no mind as long as they remained in their territory.

“Under normal circumstances, gaining The Order as an ally may have been impossible, but their Kingdom was undergoing a civil war at the time. Queen Eevul O’Brien was the daughter of an architect working under the Necromancer Lord and her birth coincided with the death of several people in the royal family. Eevul’s father was accused of the ritualistic sacrifices of the Royal Family, but no evidence was found against him. To be blunt, there is too little historical evidence on this case to know one way or the other whether he was guilty or not.

“But the important thing was that The Necromancer Lord believed he was. The Lord used his power to punish the architect and his entire family. He ordered the architect to construct a magnificent palace and had his oldest son killed and his body mixed into the mortar itself. Eevul’s mother was hung from a tree by the wrist and covered in honey so wild bees and bears mauled her to death. Eevul was taken by The Lord at only six years old and made to orally please him every single time the architect was summoned to The Lord, forcing him to watch his youngest daughter sexually satisfy his Lord.

“Oh, but Eevul’s torture and her father’s humiliation did not stop there. At the age of nine, he forced Eevul to bite off and eat two of her fingers in front of his royal magistrate, including the architect. He commissioned the architect with a project he believed to be impossible to build after making him a eunuch and threatened to kill Eevul if the architect failed.

“Eevul, at age twelve, was sent to one of the academy to learn magic and this is when she truly began to shine. Turned out Eevul was a prodigy when it came to Necromancer Magic. The Lord ordered the teachers and faculty at the academy to be extra tough and unfair on Eevul, to give her less food than the other students, and to even put her in a the boys dormitories with expectations to perform sexual favors on both male students and the male staff. Despite all that, Eevul out performed everyone else so much that the Academy Staff had no choice but to recognize her as their top student.

“At age fifteen, she defeated one of the teachers in a duel and even defeated The Academy’s Grandmaster in a duel at age sixteen, earning herself a place in The Order’s Necromancy Army. The Lord was furious and he conspired to have Eevul assassinated on eight separate occasions only to fail miserably all eight times. The Lord had Eevul’s father killed in his anger and sent his decapitated head to Eevul in a box the day of her Graduation Ceremony, then expected her to give a speech.

“At Eevul’s graduation ceremony, which The Necromancer Lord attended with the Royal Family accompanying him, Eevul showed The Lord her wrath. She sealed the auditorium where the ceremony took place with magic and killed all ten thousand people in attendance in a single night…except for The Necromancer Lord himself.

“Eevul skinned The Necromancer Lord alive while binding him and forced him to survive by eating his own skin, then she used magic to replenish his skin, and she hired people to repeat the process five times a day every single day. She adamantly ordered her loyal followers not to kill The Lord, but to prolong his life until he dies of old age having to live under that insane torture.”

Alyzia noticed Dr. Grovel’s jaw dropped with his eyes wide. The glass in his hand trembled as goosebumps covered his skin.

She continued, “The Necromancer Order’s Kingdom changed very abruptly after that graduation ceremony. Eevul had gained supporters from the students still learning at the academy, right under everyone’s nose, and she destroyed their sorcery academy. Eevul had every magic instructor at the academy killed in horrific ways, but not only them, their entire family lineage was wiped out as Eevul committed genocide by eradicating their bloodline from Bectar.

“Distance relatives still had The Necromancer Army on their side, but Eevul was gaining more and more followers from the common people by the day. She was determined to permanently wipe out the Royal Bloodline and seize the throne for herself, leading The Order’s Kingdom into a civil war. Eevul on one side and The Royal Family on the other.

“That civil war was in full force when Fei arrived. At first, he negotiated with both sides for peace against a common enemy, but neither side wanted peace, they wanted to completely destroy the other side and both told Fei they’d help him defeat The Guardians if he gave his support to their side. Fei made a decision that would forever change The Necromancer Order…his personal group, Edward’s Pirates, Devi’s Bandits, and the Liulfr united with Eevul. With Fei’s support, Eevul finished the war and impaled the remnants of the Royal Family, even the children, forever eradicating their bloodline from Bectar.”

Dominic wiped the sweat off his face. “Why would Fei choose Eevul’s side? I mean, he had to know she wasn’t going to let her enemies live. I mean, damn, genocide of entire bloodlines! Eevul sounds like she was an absolute monster!”

Alyzia took a deep breath. “Certainly was a moral dilemma, I imagine. I cannot say his reasoning for certainty, but I theorize it was purely logical. Eevul was the most powerful Sorcerer in all of Bectar and Fei was willing to support her, knowing full well how far she would go for power, if it meant defeating The Guardians.”

    “He sounded desperate,” Dominic remarked.

“Probably was. Against such overwhelming foes, Fei wanted all the support he could muster. The Necromancer Order proved an invaluable ally during The Guardian War.”

I like how her first name is synonymous with evil. Between her and the Shapeshifter, who do you consider more evil at this stage?
