Pieta

I had the linework lying on my desk for about a week and decided to finally color it. Light's body wasn't discovered in the anime, but I know when the task force does find it... Matsuda's going to be crushed. Since no one saw Ryuk write Light's name down in the anime, Matsuda's going to think it's all his fault (indeed a lot of fanfictions following the anime have that conclusion)

This is based off of Michelangelo's sculpture (Google "pieta") Light seemed like a fitting Jesus, since, in his own twisted way, he was trying to rid the world of sin and truly create a better world.

And like the foot message scene in episode 25, you can take this as religious symbolism or shonen-ai. Whatever the meaning behind Matsuda's silence in the manga epilogue when Ide asked if he "liked/was fond" of Light, I think Matsuda and Light had a brother-like bond. Matsuda had faith in Light till the end and Light seemed pretty upset it was Matsuda of all people that shot him.
