Luigi (Mario Story Fruit Shake) by DerekminyA Luigi (Mario Story Fruit Shake) by DerekminyA
The Green Extraordinaire, the Boo Buster, Player 2 himself. Luigi accompanies his brother Mario to many of his outings, from racing in go-karts to playing tennis, to throwing parties and other activities.
What seemed like a typical enter and escape from Bowser's Castle, however, quickly turned into a detour, as while Toadette took her eyes off the airship wheel to help Mario fight Boom Boom and Pom Pom, Luigi steered the ship- far away from the Mushroom Kingdom, and right into Genes Nuvola's air fleet. Needless to say, Re Fenice shoots everyone aboard down into the Frutta Archipelago.
Though it might not be all doom and gloom in that fruity place for Luigi...

Luigi's video game appearances...let's put it this way. The number of times Mario appears without Luigi after Mario Bros.' arcade release can be counted in less than a handful. Despite this, Luigi may have an equal number of appearances to Mario.
Regarding the matter of Paper Mario, meanwhile, Paper Luigi has had at least a token appearance in all official games involving the spin-off- Paper Mario 64, The Thousand Year Door, Super (ESPECIALLY Super), and even the eighth-gen games. This omnipresence extends to the DMZ timeline as well, having major (or at least medium) roles in the exclusive fangame topics and expanded roles in the recuts of the eighth-gen games. Obviously, this model sheet relates to Luigi's appearance in an upcoming fangame topic of the same name.

I am not too fond the fact that Luigi had minimized roles in the eighth-gen games (outside of your recuts). And this is despite the very character restriction, and I may consider that the developers didn't do fair research outside of the returning Dino Rhinos. Its not that far-fetched to say that they were being too restrictive and make it almost New Super Mario Bros. with constant, blatant paper being pointed out.

Exactly- they mostly acted like Sunshine and Galaxy didn't exist, even though that was fair game under Miyamoto's rules. There's no way they didn't know about those games, either, since Mario & Sonic 2016 and Minecraft Wii U used characters like the Piantas from those games (as well as Lava Piranha, to my surprise). The fact Luigi fulfills 3 substantially different roles at once is very odd. It's obvious they didn't actually want to try working with the restriction (despite what they say in the interviews), and that the current creative team shouldn't have been left in charge of the Wii U Paper Mario game.

On the subject of written paper jokes and comments in the Wii U Paper Mario game, I noticed something perplexing- while there's comparatively fewer of them, they make even less sense, yet feel more forced/obnoxious.
For example (something that wiiking96 of GameFAQs noticed when this footage was revealed at E3 2016), at Bloo Bay Beach, Huey wants to go for a swim, but can't because he's made out of paper. What doesn't make sense is that the whole world is made of cardboard, yet nothing is sogging away.
In another moment, the miniboss at Redpepper Crater says he'll burn Mario to the touch because Mario's made of paper. However, the miniboss and the rest of his species also have a paper border like the rest of the game's characters. Therefore, the miniboss and his lesser members should either burn up from their mere existence or not be able to burn Mario at all.
Finally, at Lighthouse Island, the Toad captain also wants to swim across, yet he's made of paper. This is more of a case of the paper jokes being especially forced and bringing to light the lacking character designs, since he would very likely say something more profound about himself at this point. (And honestly, I could talk about Chapter 4 of the Wii U game at length and just how ...off everything is).

Admit it, it's truly a different kind of Paper Mario than we used to know. It's like if Sticker Star and Color Splash would look more fitting as main game Mario games, minus the paper things and maybe RPG elements.

Speaking of soggy situation and water, this might give me a sneaky idea; I did told you about Sticker Star and Color Splash's stories being a bit changed and got justfications in some cases like no partners in either stories for consistency, and in case of water, Huey and the Toad captain had a different reason (Huey: I could leave my metal body stained from he water!) and (Toad, namely Sweet T.: ...It is just that I am a horrible swimmer. Like, a really bad one! One dive bomb, and game over for me!). The Soggy Shy Guy's case is not from the "paper" water, but rather the True Water, done by Masteurpiece himself (not seen in this story) to justify why the Shy Guy is soggy (and renamed Badly Splashed Guy).

It truly is. As things are, both of the current Paper Mario games are outdone not just by the Mario platformers, but Zelda: Breath of the Wild also does a lot of similar stuff, yet better.

That all sounds cool, cutting down the paper jokes and replacing them with actual jokes. Those lines in particular are great substitutes. That's also a nice new name for the Toad captain (if that's who that is).

That's also interesting to consider, Monsieur secretly being there on Prism Island in the Gears timeline. Look forward to reading how else Drawing of Disaster recounts Color Splash's events.

Yeah that's the same Toad captain you told me about, from the same forced-paper-joke situation you explained me about.

I'll send you a note about more on the altered stories details.
