Yeah, I dunno, the name is a bit odd, but sardonyx looks a little like red and white agate. Its been quite a while, but I really like the shape of this dragon, much like Cobalt.
This dragon is a hand-made OOAK. All creatures I make are based off of worry dolls and cornhusk dolls alike.
Legend of the worry doll:
Worry dolls originate in Guatemala. Original dolls are tiny human figures made with yarn, wire and twigs with vibrant clothing made of traditional fabrics. At night, you would tell one problem to your worry doll and put it under your pillow before you fell asleep. In the morning you would awake and depending on the legend, either stow your worry doll in a box or not, before continuing with your day. The worry doll, during both the night and the day would supposedly worry for you, relieving you from your stress.
Legend of the cornhusk doll:
Many native stories feature cornhusk dolls and often portray the consequences of vanity. Cornhusk dolls are simple dolls made out of cornhusks shaped into humans. They often have little to no details and are featured both with and without simple attire. Their bland design is supposed to allow room for the imagination to make up their features and be reminiscent of the repercussions of narcissism.
Made with yarn, felt, pipe cleaners and tender love and care!

Hi Julia! I just wanted to let you know that I've featured your work in a post called August Birthstone Dragons by Various Artists on my dragon artwork blog (with proper attribution and links back, of course). I love this piece, and the photo is so well done too! It was easily the best of the rare "Sardonyx" dragons I could find this month. You can find me at Writing Dragons, and this feature here. Keep up the great work!
