Team Fortress 2 - Sasha Nerf gun by DenWingZero Team Fortress 2 - Sasha Nerf gun by DenWingZero
A fun build here. Picking up the Nerf Vulcan blaster, i wondered if there was any cool mods that could be done to it. someone on Youtube managed to turn it into a Gatling gun.

I wanted to do that, and thus started work. part way through, friends wanted to do a Team Fortress 2 cosplay group. So my Gatling gun project was converted to one of the iconic TF2 weapons, Sasha. the Heavy's mini-gun.

Cosmetically, she passes off as Sasha, despite detail inaccuracies, such as the handle and pieces I left in Nerf orange (can't get the police mad at me now) and I've almost got her actually firing Nerf bullets through the rotating barrel. (unlike some Gatling gun props, where bullets are shot through the centre and the barrels revolve around that, Sasha here actually turns the barrel to line up the top tube with the dart firing mechanism)

While using the manual firing mode works well, I've been having issues with it firing off battery power, but hopefully I'll solve that problem soon

This should be a real nerf weapon

You probably know this, but rigging in a larger battery would dramatically help with firing speed. In this case though, you may want to do it as a stock Vulcan doesn't have the barrel assembly to turn, and while it isn't that massive, it probably is pretty hard for a stock power supply to spin. It might also help with your firing issues, as it sounds to me like it's struggling with the gatling barrel so much that the parts that actually fire the darts is suffering from it as well.

I LOVE this thing tho, might consider converting my Vulcan to something similar. Mind if I ask a link to that guide/for a general explaination on how one goes about doing this?

half the issue was the gatling barrel pack was just slightly smaller than required, thus the barrel wouldn't line up correctly.  the rod that made the barrelpack spin with the chain feed wheel was a bit flimsy as well, the gun barrel would slip out of sequence and jam.  extra volts could have make it better or worse, but i've not got back to looking at it again.

If only Hasbro made nerf guns like that. I'd buy one like a shot.
