Memoir of a Legend

Second place winner of Sega's Phantasy Star Portable 2 Fan Art Contest.

This artwork is going to be included in the game as a Room Decoration item.

The character is Alisa Landeel (aka Alis Landale in the US version) from the original Phantasy Star for the Sega Master System.

Some new coloring techniques at work here. For one thing, this is how I'll color hairs from now on as they look more natural - my solution to the Urushihara metallic hair. Also, I studied artworks from Gundam Wing and figured out how to use those gradient-ish coloring within the shading. Finally, the little glows on the hair and the white highlights are no longer overdone.

Thanks everyone for all their support^^

If there was a game that I would call a legend and that I would say is better then FF, even though I am FF fan as well as PS, I would say Phantasy Star because that was the game that got me into RPGs and plus the story was very gripping.

But anyway when I saw this in the Phantasy Star Portable 2 game I was really blown away and I had to find it on the net and long and behold I happened to come across your page.

And so I must say that this is one of the best PS fanarts/artworks I have seen, you really have captured Alis very well indeed and given her the legendary look that is well and truly amazing.

Welldone to you mate, you really made this Phantasy Star nutter's day :).

YEEES.
I've also got this poster in My Room, such lovely art. Since it reminded me of top quality 80's-90's anime art styles, I instantly adored the image whenever I had first saw it.
This is the style of art that I want more animes and video games to incorporate again in our age. ; ;

Thanks.

Not gonna happen though. Anime is first and foremost a business. The industry will do what it can to increase profits, even if it's at the sacrifice of artistic quality.

Yah. It's a true formula for the industry's evolution.
