The results of the poll and the judges scores will be revealed Monday. Here are the fabulous entries one last time.

P'shaw! It's hardly a loss; this is my final week of school. Then I don't go back til late January. I have every intention of catching up while I can.

College is nothing like I thought it would be. I mean, I knew it'd be harder, but it's still ten times harder than I thought it would be! :XD: It's been maddening. But I think I've done well... And by well I mean average. I have an A in English 101 at least.

After this week it's smooth sailing for over a month. But of course, how can you trust anything I say now :D I've ended up being the liar over and over again with my promises to update. I'm actually really disappointed with myself about that. So I mean to compensate.

:P So I just need to quit whining and get to work!

"P'shaw"????! Oh girl, you are killing me. I love this story and miss it madly. Yes, college can be a misery and a joy. You'll master it. It just takes time. As for your writing, sounds like you've tripped and fallen into the "I reread this damn thing and it sucks" hole. It doesn't really. It just looks that way once you come down from the euphoria of the initial writing. Give it space and time, then when you go back to it try not to gut the thing. You have something wonderful here. It's only your inner critic who is refusing to see that for now. I have faith. You should too. I'll wait patiently. Just don't give up. It took me over 20 years to come back to Fellowship, but I am so glad I did.

^^; Yeah, I feel like I only just climbed out of that damn hole. I genuinely like what I'm writing now, especially since this english class had me practicing editing the first time I write something, instead of spewing story and fixing grammar later. It's just this week. As soon as I got back into my flow, I had to swim to shore and study for these finals. >_< You have no idea how badly I'm looking forward to this vacation. To finally sit down and have nothing to work on but my hobbies? Just like Heaven! :giggle:

And hell, I'm glad you picked up Fellowship. I can't wait to start reading your work again. I haven't even been reading jon.com (partially due to lack of time, partially because I want to read my beautiful signed copy when it arrives :evillaugh: You're going to give me a long heartfelt signature, yes please?). That e-mail labeled "The Epilogue" has been driving me insane!

I've been drafting your long and heartfelt message for weeks. It's almost perfected -- which is more than I can say for the story. I'm trying to edit out about 20,000 words. Lord, I got long-winded in places. Maybe I should be taking the English course that pushes for editing up front!

BTW, LunaticStar has me almost convinced to write the Fellowship sequel next. I even wrote a couple of opening paragraphs. What do you think?

:O That's a LONG heartfelt message!

Of course I'm all for anything that gives me more of those awesome characters :XD: But I couldn't say for sure, since I haven't finished Fellowship yet. ^^; I'd be willing to give any drafts of a sequel a looksee though, once I do finish!

The turn-out is SO impressive so far! What a pleasant surprise! I can't wait to see who wins! Makes me wish I had been a judge! That I don't know what the judges are thinking is driving me mad!

:giggle: Have you thought about asking what other people think about the designs? Which is THEIR favorite and the like? You might want to ask that before declaring a winner, since ultimately it's the people who will be buying the shirt that matter... Although that would probably compromise judgement... ^^; Still, have you considered it?

Yes, I have. I was thinking about holding a poll, sort of a people's choice winner. BTW, I don't know what the judges are thinking either. I know one of them refuses to look at the designs until they are all in. She's going to be stunned at the great choices. I know I am.

Okay, I'm sorry. I tried, but I can't get the layout the way I want it. I'll leave the ideas I had here for someone else to piece together and use. If someone uses this and wins, please give them full credit for the design!

I wanted to do:
Front: patch over left breast that uses the blue jay tattoo and says underneath it: "Is it broken, or just a ruse?"
Back: "Who's playing whom? Who's really in control? Find out at [link]"

Second design:
Front: patch over left breast that uses the eyes. Under the eyes: "You are my lifeline."
Back: Open eyes again. Over the eyes: "The day you stop watching, they will kill me." Under the eyes: "You may get to see that too." and under that "www.jonsmythe.com"

I wish I had the talent to piece it all together, but I get frustrated with the graphical tools I have available and gave up. :(
