Given everything she has gone through during her musical career, and in her personal life as a result, it’s crazy to think that she’s only a few years older than I am. Though I’m not a massive fan of her works, I won’t deny that she certainly makes an impression, regardless of whether it’s the first time or if you see her every day.
Despite how I feel about her, you’ve certainly done her a service with this pencil portrait of her. Several details, from the small things like the eyeliner and lips, to the more noticeable like her seashell (or metal grate I guess) inspired dress, I don’t really think I can point anything out that would need another look.
The hair flows quite well, her skin looks lovely, body proportions look quite solid at a glance, the dress has been done very well, and the emerald and diamond jewellery was cut quite nicely. Least I think it’s emerald, could be aquamarine for all I know.
Regardless, for the many hours you’ve spent on this piece, this is absolutely an exquisite portrait of her most recent outing, and you deserve all the plaudits you can get. Hell, I’d feel that the lady herself would, ahem, go gaga if she got to see this. Whatever the case, know that you’ve done a fantastic job, and I hope you can keep it up in future.
That being said, I have to respect the level of passion and will to improve, even if it's something that, at least to me, looks pretty damn good from where I'm standing. Based on your thoughts though, I suppose re-angling the left eye a little could be a start, but that's just being rather picky on my end.
How could I not, when it's clear to me that you put real time and effort into crafting such a great piece? And hey, if you're not convinced by my words alone, just read the rest of the comments.
Take care now!
