PE: Interview with *BlackJack0919

Well , my name is Khoi, 23 years old. I'm a silly, nerdy, almost funny, over thinking, like to take things slow, fish lover, firm believer of firm mattresses, love to sleep, addicted to American TV shows, always craving for new things, sometimes a little too emotional person who also learning to become a Doctor and a better photographer. So far, things have been good ^^

Well, my love for photography started by taking pictures of others. I used to love taking pictures of me, my family and my friends, just for the purpose that someday I will look at them and reminiscent about the past. And on 2006, after I drop by deviantART, my vision for photography had changed. I started to realize that a picture need a story and have to mean something rather than just a picture of people posing. That's when my passion for photography began, and after 4 years, here I am.

About 3 years.

I would pretty much say that a conceptual piece is idea(s) involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic and material concerns or in other words, a define-something-through-picture in the "weird" way, it reflect the idea of the artists about specific matters such as life problems, love, quotes, songs , and sometimes just lessons to be learned . And it is what I love to call "a silent witness", it describes itself without words.

One word : EVERYWHERE . I love to visualize things just so I can remember them easier. My ideas sometimes come from reading a book, listening to a song, while I'm talking the shower, while I was driving to school, when I was taking coffee break and looking at people passing by, taking a test, couldn't sleep at night, shopping, and even when I secretly spying on someone I like ( ).

I especially love to encourage others to follow their dreams and become who they should be. I used to have my dream collapsed, my hope crushed  I had been down and up so many times, but I still stand up and move on. So I understand how hard it is to start over something, that's why I always want to be side by side with others to encourage them, because sometimes, a helping hand, a pat on the shoulder or a simple "Hoo Hah, you can do it !!" can be more helpful than a prayer or an angel from heaven.

And I wanted to change the world. Not a big change, but a small change, because I know that when I raise my voice up, no matter how small, someway, somewhere out there, there will be someone hear them . That's how we change the world, isn't it ?? Small acts of random kindness.

Well, I used to use the compact Olympus SP700, DSLR-Like Canon SX10 IS and now, Nikon D70 with 18-55mm VR Nikkor and 50mm f/1.8D. These two lens have been the best, cheapest and easiest to work with in conceptual photography. And most of my concepts were taken by these two lens ^^

Well, " DeviantART have creative artists" has to be the first and only thing that contributes me. I used to spend hours after hours surfing through DeviantART to look at pictures just to get some ideas. And I've been able to become friends with other artists as well, and I love it. DeviantART had provided a playground for everyone and helped everyone to grow.

Yes, of course there is . There is a saying : "Some was born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them". I think I belong to the "achieve greatness group". Most of my hobbies, my visions in life always come or inspire by other people and then I will start to work from there, and I'm proud of that. DeviantART had provided me more artists than I could never wish for, I love to spend hours after hours to search but the three best conceptual artist in my life were ( and still are ) :
