My Desktop by Demonessyume My Desktop by Demonessyume
I update this single post as I see no reason to have more than one submission for a desktop. Plus, right now I'm keeping in mind how simple it is to actually achieve something like this versus other OS/WM/Shells etc. Turns out linux was :effort: and boring to me, so I made my own visual style as well as edited a few others.

Hi, I got here from looking for the source of the painting in the bottom left. Could you please tell me where you found these images, or at least the source of the bottom two? thanks!

www.pixiv.net/member_illust.ph…

Both images were photoshopped and flipped so i doubt they'd come up in reverse image search.

Can i have the visual style on bottom? I can't seen to find something pure like that anywhere. I'm amazed.

The white visual styles are mostly a simple frame edit of kombo fav.me/d4pqv30 . It's not something I have the liberty of re-releasing since it is not originally mine. It is however, very easy to modify yourself and I encourage you to try by reading up nanami-tan.info/#ThemeBuilding

View the full resolution image and read the terminal with the ASCII windows logo. Thats called cmdfetch, and its a script that displays information about your computer - see where it says IRC Client? I'm using Hexchat with GTK.

Jeez I don't know what to do with Hexchat. What do you mean Hexchat with GTK? I checked out GTK+ if that's what you mean and fuck. There's a lot I have to do. I just wanna make sure I'm doing the right thing.

I just want a riced IRC :c

Please review documentation at hexchat.readthedocs.org/en/lat…
You don't have to do a lot. It's really simple. You have to know how to download and install a program, then check the box that says "install gtk" when you install hexchat, and copy and paste the gtkrc file from my dotfiles into C:\Program Files\HexChat\etc\gtk-2.0 . Thats it. If you want to change the colors, you have to edit the gtkrc file. What is gtk and how do you write gtk themes? Google it, I it's not something I can teach you.

uh these screens really made me try bblean. i'm trying to get something similar, but i can't figure what font do you use on the bottom screen, i'm not getting the same effect with open sans nor with dejavu sans mono nor with inconsolata.
two little icons on the left top, i'm guessing they are for switching working spaces, can you tell me how to set up those, they are somewhat very cute. last question, this little border effect on the windows is made with bbleanskin plugin right no other software needed?

I use Mactype with the default LCD Profile. Keep in mind the contrast, I tend to use a background color of #ebebeb and a text color of #999 or higher. Lowering color contrast will greatly change the way a font appears.

The workspace icons can be set by editing your bbleanbar.rc. My settings are here: github.com/xDemonessx/dotfiles…

The border on the windows and the windows themselves are completely dependent on the visual style. You can learn how to edit visual styles by reading nanami-tan.info/#@1b and the links it sends you too. Bblean skin is not utilized in the setup on the bottom right.

yosh, i'm getting better at this, however, workspace buttons are just default arrows, even thou i applied your bbleanbar.rc settings, do i need to put those exact symbols somewhere? anyways thank you very much, i like toying with it.

I'm not sure, the buttons may vary per bblean build. I'm using Mojmirs most recent build, x64, available on blackbox4windows.com.

If you download the image you can better read the information on the screenfetch/cmdfetch (the windows with the ascii logos). I'm using rxvt on Ubuntu and mintty (cygwin) on Windows for the terminals. There it will list everything from the Operating system to the CPU and RAM. The theme names are listed for Ubuntu, the Windows themes are my own edits (bblean and an edited version of Uniko by Kiko11). You can even see the fonts I'm using, and grab the colors from the terminal display on the Ubuntu desktop. The foobar skin is ncmpcpp mod by masood, just recolored. Hexchat is pretty default. The bbleanskin plugin gives my windows the small border, as well as removes the captions.

I use the bbiconbox plugin, which puts tray icons in a slit that you can position around the sides of the screen and auto hide. I also use this plugin as a quick launch for certain games, folders, or services. It works just like a dock, essentially. Here is how it works and what it looks like in action:[link] The settings for these plugins as well as my bblean style can be found here: [link]
