Greetings my little Implings!
So here’s my entry for the naughty or nice challenge on the arts and OC amino in which you make an OC based on the concept of naughty or nice. N’ I decided why not? I’d participated in the last holiday challenge n’ I had a pretty fun time drawing my entry, so it would only make sense that I would participate in this years challenge.
So for me I’ve decided to pick Team Naughty n’ when I was thinking of some ideas for the design of the character, I ended up remembering a certain Christmas Krampus. For those of you who don’t know, Krampus is a character that originated for central English folklore, he’s essentially an anthropomorphic half-goat half-demon who punishes the naughty children during Christmas. He’s basically the devil of Christmas.
N’ for some reason my brain went “wait...Santa is usually depicted having little elves as his workers...n’ since Krampus is technically the opposite of Santa...what would happen if Krampus have elves of his own?” N’ that’s basically what my entry is, the evil version of Santa’s elves.
So for the design I wanted to give it the same half-goat half-demon as Krampus but still have some of the aspects of stereotypical Christmas elf, such as the ripped up stockings. I made the color pallet more bland n’ neutral, replaced the elf hat w/ a goat skull, as well as make their feet resemble goat hooves. I also thought of the idea of instead of them making toys they basically live on a coal mind underneath Santa’s workshop which is why their hands, hooves, n’ clothes are covered in soot.
But yeah, I’m really happy w/ how this design turned out. N’ I wish the best of luck to the other participants.
