Hazbin Hotel redesign p3

Greetings my little Implings!

Here is part 3 of my HH redesign n’ boy is it a big one. This time we’re focusing on the other remaining sinners in the show, who currently don’t got much going for them in terms of in depth character lore but are still important regardless. Starting w/ Husk, the hotel bartender n’ cranky old cat man thing w/ wings.

Now like I said we don’t know much about his backstory such as how he died n’ what he did in his human life. All we know is that he died sometime in the 1970s, is addicted to drinking alcohol n’ gambling, n’ that he at some point was an overlord before selling his soul to Alastor. N’ that’s just basic info from the show because according to the wiki, it says that apparently Husk grew up in Las Vegas when he was alive n’ as a child loved watching those cheesy magic shows that would take at the casino where he was raised in. Which would explain certain elements in his design especially the card symbols, as well his fur color resembles that of a tuxedo. Also apparently the reason for him being a cat w/ wings in the first place his because long ago Husk was actually created by Viv’s younger sister, n’ she decided to keep it which I think is nice. So to keep it brief I kept the cat w/ wings thing the same, I just made Husk instead a fat grumpy cat cause I think it fits w/ his personality better. I kept his wings but just changed them up a bit in terms of color as well as keeping the hat cause I think it looks cute. N’ of course I incorporated all the card symbols in his design because, while I do understand why they changed the wing designs from the pilot to make it easier for the animators, I still kinda wish they included the other symbols instead just the hearts ya know. Also yes I gave him clothes too mainly a buttoned shirt n’ his pants w/ suspenders, I have class.

Next up is Nifty, the hotel maid n’ obsessive lover of all boys (especially bad boys) like Husk we don’t know that much about her except the fact that she’s obsessive about cleaning, boys n’ died in the 1950s. Her design is meant to be based off of bugs n’ B-Movie aliens, which I find ironically funny given that she enjoys killing bugs. So I obviously kept that aspect of her design the same, w/ the slight touch up of making her skin green to fit the alien bug theme better, but also I chose a preying mantis for her bug inspiration. I also changed her outfit to a more 1950’s housewife attire, since it is suspected that her obsession w/ men stems from her need to become the perfect housewife given the time period she lived in. Because idk if y’all know this but, back in the 50’s women didn’t have a lot of options on what career paths they could take. I also gave her, her iconic 3 red dots as it is suspected that she could’ve died due to gunshot wounds, supposedly after stalking a guy she really liked one fateful day. But regardless I feel like it also gives her a kind of threatening appearance w/ the blood on her clothes, as she isn’t afraid to stab a b*tch.

Next is Cherri Bomb, an Australian who died in the 80s n’ is Angel’s closest friend n’ enabler. She essentially is a wild woman who enjoys blowing up things w/ her bombs n’ just living her afterlife. N’ also provides an interesting conflict in regards to Angel, because despite the fact that Cherri does care for Angel n’ his well being especially in regards to his quote on quote “relationship” w/ Val, she’s also his enabler, basically being the obstacle that prevents Angel from quitting his addictive habits n’ truly seeking a path of rehabilitation n’ redemption. For her I just gave her more of a punk look w/ a leather jacket n’ all. Along w/ making her hair more explosive by replacing the gradient w/ a more duel dye style.

N’ finally Serpentious a snake man who died in the 1880’s, is a builder of high tech weaponry, n’ has egg minions apparently…also his hat is sentient too don’t know why that is. Now he was the one I definitely had a good idea of what I wanted to do w/ him, n’ that is to give him a steampunk Victorian vibe to his design. Because based on the technology that he creates n’ the time he died, obviously that just sounded like the perfect fit to give him. I also gave him more of a bronze like color palette to match the era n’ yes I did keep his sentient hat. It just now has an eyeball instead of a mouth because let’s be honest the mouth didn’t do sh*t felt like it was just there just because.
