So I made one of these ages ago for my cousin as a thank you for lending me the hunger games books. [link] who has a Hunger games craft group asked me to make a tutorial for it. Its taken me a while but here it is!
It's my first tutorial so comments are welcome (but please be nice :P)

Obviously I do not own the books or even the picture I based the charm on.

I'd love to show it but my cat violently murdered it so it's absolutely broken :sob:  I guess I didn't make it strong enough...

This is pretty great! :D I'm going to see what materials my art class at school already has and buy whatever else I'll need (probably the Premo/sculpey). This has truly inspired me. If it turns out as great as yours, I'm going to move onto making a horsecall/Ilia's charm from Legend of Zelda and some Harry Potter charms. I know my friends will love these! :D

Perfect! I'll start now, so in march 23th it'll be ready <3
By the way as recommendation I propose to add transparent glue when the pin is done. It'll make it more resistant and the pin will glow :D

will the wire melt or mess the clay up when you bake it?
DelusionsOfHolbert's avatar
I imagine it will depend on the type of wire you use but I have never had any problems with the jewlery wire that I use. I use it for inside other stuff as well and it's always been fine. The only wire I can think of that would melt at 130 degrees C would be solder (and maybe not even that)

I ♥ YOU!!! I one of these and took a picture to send to my friends and I got tons of requests for them, so I gave a ton away for Christmas gifts. I'm getting more and more requests and one of my friends even wore hers to school today. I plan to sell one on eBay just to see how much people will pay! You should do that too! Your's looks a million times better than mine! Thanks again for making me very happy!!!!
