The Chopping Block

During the university program I help run, the students get a taste of life in colonial America. As teams, they build their own shelters; make all their own meals; blacksmith with my husband; learn to carve with me; make homemade bread, ice cream, and apple cider; and finally they butcher chickens. It's a great teambuilding weekend with lots of fun and a little hard work.
Anyway... this is the spot where the chickens are butchered. I just thought the picture turned out cool.
