how's 2014?

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 14, 2014, 5:01 AM
2014? Omg, I started this in slow motion.
Working slow on several sketches and playing games. I should play less... I know. I ignored a bunch of things that needed to be done already and stuff is piling up.
I need to start on with organizing everything.

How's your 2014 so far?

Tutorial in progress

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 11, 2013, 10:06 AM

Being caught into 3D work and having less and less time for anything, I plan to get a few days off for holidays and paint.
What plans do you have for these hollidays?

In addition to this I started to prepare 2 canvases and I plan to make a tutorial about how to make your own canvas ready for oil paint.

Meanwhile you can check my "blog" to see my latest stuff and follow me on "twitter"

Also many thanks and hugs to everyone for the beautiful wishes on my birthday. I'm very happy and I appreciate all of them!

New Year

Journal Entry: Fri Jan 6, 2012, 12:35 AM

First I wish everybody a Happy New Year and since I started this year on a wrong foot by getting a cold my plans are currently on hold.
I'm drinking hot tea instead of coffee and I'm mostly sleepy. I hope it goes away soon.

For this year I want learn more new things and get a lot of improvement, but I guess that's everybody's wish :)
What do you want to achieve more this year? (Assuming the world won't end :saddrunk:)

Some of my plans are to add some tutorials here on DA which I already added on my blog. You can check them if you want:
- How to turn a Path into a a Shape Layer tutorial as well some tips that I think they're very useful and
- How to make a Custom Brush for Photoshop.
Amazingly these were a lot of fun to make. If you have a suggestion about a new tutorial let me know.

I also hope to add soon a new WIP video on my youtube channel and will record some more. It looks so poor atm.

Other things... I'll try to get a new ID. I think I changed a lot for the past 2 years and my old ID doesn't seem to represent me, so don't get scared if you'll see some more pic's submitted.

Anyway I'll crawl away for now to get  more tea.

Free time?

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 29, 2011, 5:09 AM

Hi everybody,

I just completed another project and I'm quite happy about it.
I'll submit soon more details.
Currently I'm free which is so great. I really needed some time off.

My free time is very limited and I never really do all the things I plan. I have this old drawing I started, it's steampunk based theme and I haven't worked on it for more then 2 months. I wonder if I get a chance to get my hands on it.
And this ain't the only drawing waiting to be completed.
I also plan seeing some anime tv show. I usually don't watch anime but I found some amusing one.

Anyway, I'm curious!
How do you spend your free time?

Disappointing things

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 12, 2011, 10:45 AM

There are many things that disappoint me.
For example death is very disappointing. That's the reward you're getting at the end of you're life.
People can also be disappointing, for example when they promise you things and they don't keep their word. That's not only disappointing, but it's also annoying.
Another thing is when you meet someone new and you get a high opinion on that person and it turns out they're nothing you thought of them. That's also disappointing.
When you order up some food that doesn't taste up like you remembered, or like the same food you eat in another place.
Also photoshop is sometimes very disappointing with all those bugs.
Ah there was another thing I wanted to mention, but is impossible to remember, now that's disappointing!

What does disappoint you the most?

Soon... soon.

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 1, 2011, 4:22 PM

Hi friends,

I hope you're enjoying the autumn.
There's not many updates to tell only that it's awesome having more time for my self and I'm having some ideas about new works.
Also I have a lot of stuff to upload, some from last year, but I never really get there. I need better organization. I'm always amazed by those people who have their works so well put in place.

How's your summer?

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 5, 2011, 7:56 AM

Hello my friends,

It's been a while since I haven't updated this so here it is.
I finally decided to get a new camera and after 1 week I though a Canon 1000D it's a good choice for my budget and an amateur photograph. I haven't done a pic from ages and I'm very anxious about this. I've seen some really cool images around DA done with it.

Other then than I'm enjoying quite a rainy summer and being lazy. I have no plans whatsoever except improving my portfolio.
I tried out the photoshop cs5 just to get some problems from it. The think is that the wacom intuos 3 pressure doesn't work properly with it. I even got a new driver for tablet, but I still get the same. I'm very disappointed about it. Anyone else having similar problems?

Old New Days

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 9, 2011, 9:18 AM
Hello everyone! How do you enjoy your spring by now?
I'm loving it, especially that this week I left my job. I have so many things that awaits for me to start and I have no idea where to begin. I'll get back at working freelance for a while and I want to enjoy some silence and relax after the chaotic period I had. If you want a drawing from me commissions are open ;) I still need to update some things here and there, but now it's supposed I have more time.

I also opened an Etsy shop and I'm a bit scared and overwhelmed about it.
I'd like to organize everything, but it's hard when the unknown lays ahead. Wish me luck with this new beginning.

:pointr: Cool Stuff!

I've been waited so much for spring and now that it finally came it seems rather meaningless without a camera to shoot pics around. My poor old camera is broken by an year now and I couldn't do anything about that and nobody of the multitude of friends I got is willing to borrow theirs, heh. I also have this huge painting laying around that needs a shoot and some jewels I made last year. Life ain't so great without a camera. I've been checking to buy a new one but in all this time I had other priorities and I'm not so sure that getting a new camera will happen anytime soon. Though I'm curious as I'm not a professional photographer what camera would you recommend to me? I'd be more then happy to receive suggestions.

Painfully Cold

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 2, 2011, 11:25 AM
Hello everyone, how are you all?
I'm still freezing and I'm dreaming of warmer days; as I complained before I do hate cold, now more then ever, it makes me tired and I can't focus on anything. I'm always numb and all the grey outside it's really depressing. Only one month of suffering now, even though Spring seems ages away.

I'm done preparing 4 canvases but I won't be able to start on any until march maybe. February is painful and it's possible I won't have any free time at all this month neither the weekends. The truth is that all I want is sleep...for a week at least ^^

Hugs to you all and tons of inspiration ;)

Winter and Cold

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 5, 2010, 3:51 AM
With December the cold has finally settle in. As I said before I dislike cold a lot as for December it's always a problematic month which already started badly. I had a tiresome week and the weekend wasn't too great either. I'm so tired that I feel I could sleep for an entire week.

Anyway here's my art blog, if you have a blog yourself follow mine and I'll follow yours :)

Where does the time go?

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 10, 2010, 1:47 PM
My time to draw is so limited these days... and the few time I got it's spend mostly to draw a speed painting from time to time. I hope I'll be able to add more complex illustration from my job, but that's unlikely at least for a while.
I'm not sure what other updates I should add, but I figure it out it was time to update this journal. Anyway if you're interested for more updates you can always check my blog :)

Besides that, yes, I'm waiting for the holidays and I do hope to have some time to rest... do nothing at all :D
1 month to go
Just curious what are you planning for the holidays?

a question for all (small edit)

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 11, 2010, 1:28 AM

What movie does really make your day every time you are watching it?
I'm not referring at your favorite movie, but that movie that gives you a warm felling and makes you smile waiting for the next day of your life no matter what problems you have. (just so it won't be any confusion when answering :) )

Also I'd like to ask why would that particular movie would make you feel better?

Summer's gone?

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 27, 2010, 12:28 PM

How are you all? I hope your days are really great :) with this few last days of summer that are almost over. This summer was full and definitely tops the last year's one! :)
I returned home a week ago from a great trip I had, back to work. I'm not sure if I mention before but these days I'm working as a concept artist at a software firm so this is the result of no time and less personall work, if you wondered what's happening and why this lack of submissions. Drawing there all day eats all my energy to paint anything else home.
So back to the trip thing, I'm never in a mood to leave anywhere, but once there it feels good. Just to mention I missed another trip this weekend, I'm sure it could have been great, but I desperately need some quiet, I have sketches, noted ideas and tons of things in a mess that needs some organization and considering I'll be home alone I'll finally be able to have my time and make at least one painting.

Some great news is that my work "Dazed in madness" was featured in CaA Nr.40 Madness magazine. They're here on DA Chiamata-alle-Arti.
:bulletblack:Click here to get the pdf magazine, there are some great works in this number, all based on Madness theme, of course :)

I also had some sever health problems, again, but after changing the doctor and a heavy medication I think I'm fixed. 1 more week of pills and hopefully the pain will vanish. Being sick is so depressive.

A question: How do you find a title to perfectly match with your work?

I know that some people name their work "Painting 1", 2.. and so on, though I do like to give an image an interesting title something to say at least a bit from what I had in mind and felt when I made it.

It was a time when I actually didn't name my work or gave it an impersonal title because I wanted people not to be under the influence of the title when they looked at it. Those times are over and now I do want my work to say more then inspire random feelings.

So if you like to give a good title to your work how do you do that?

It's May...

Journal Entry: Mon May 3, 2010, 12:32 PM

...and I noticed it's been a while since I made no update so hello everybody.

I haven't been so active lately if you happen to notice, but I've been around here and there.
My life it's very active... quite in a rush with what I got used over the past years and I like it.
I'm having 2 personal paintings in progress and I hope to be able to finish something in the weekend. I got some more ideas but those probably will have to wait since work keeps me very busy and the time I have when I get home is spend mostly on other things then drawing.

Last year (in fact it's exactly 1 year) I started to make some jewels and for my own fun from time to time I craft earrings mostly. I uploaded some things of what I made. I think I'll scrap most of them.

I also begin to play Warhammer recently and I'm quite anxious about it.
Anyway it's getting late and I need to run for now.
Hugs to you all :)
