It started with a boy. He looked about sixteen with reddish brown hair and was wearing a black hoodie with light blue jeans. He stood in white nothingness for time beyond measure and as I revolved around him the background of this world seemed to fade into being. It was a land of black and white which slowly drained the color from the boy as he became a part of the world.
The land in which we were was one of despair and of shattered hopes which seemed to steal what little warmth there still was. Buildings of crumbling brick and cracked glass were the background and the foreground of this worlds existence. As the boy wandered from ruin to ruin he came across a large bathroom mirror that covered the wall above a sink. As he out stretched his right hand and touched the glass with his finger the word Icarus appeared in the glass as if carved by a knife. As the jagged letters appeared in the glass the mirror began to fade until
