Another graphical test. Yep, I doesn't post often sketches or speed. ( I should? )

This time I inspect this way :
- Sketch & draw speedly as I can in Mypaint using a single brush, save to *.ora
- Crop, colorise line and Paint and finish image with Krita, focus on a limited palette.

I try to simplify maximum the steps to win time, not easy, but I have the feeling I'm on the right way. I'll continue in my freetime with trying a cleaner artwork with this technic.

Yes, you should! Sketches are a preety "style" on their own.

This is lovely! The detail in the expression is great. I really like seeing sketches and speed paintings.

Oh thanks Chritina.

I love the colors, and the feel of this picture. The tribal feel, like an elfin clan intrigues me. She's beautifully done =)

I woul personaly like to see more of your speedpaints, especialy if we were also able to watch the video process of their creation. We can learn a lot from those.

I like the color and texture. It is a style in it self.

Yeah, sure, post some more speed paintings. They are awesome!
ALL your work is awesome!

Although, in this one, the girls arm (specificaly shoulder) and nose look a bit weird.
I bet, that's stuff you'd have revised later if this was from a longer drawing session.

Thx, and you are right about arm and noses. I still lake of a lot of consistency and clean volumes in my drawing. I'm too used to 'correct' on painting steps, and my eyes and drawing became unfortunately lasy. Thanks for the reminder. I have to take more care about it if my drawing is visible on final.

I can certainly sympathize with the quest of bringing down painting time; I think you produce an efficient and fluent test with nice attitude here!

:) if you ever have tips to share about reducing painting time I'm also interested. :D
I'll try to draw a short comics with this technic. I'll see the pitfall of productivity.

I'm unfortunately going in the wrong direction currently when it comes to reducing painting time - I tend to spend more time on each piece rather than less. Nevertheless I find that I'm most pleased with works that takes less than 8 hours total - more time does not seem to add more than making me fiddling with too many details. Since I only have limited time to do art (usually friday afternoon and sometimes a saturday evening) I've had to try to be efficient; ideally I finish things in a sitting, dividing things up over multiple weekends is never a good idea for me.

For making comics, time is indeed of the essence; my goal is to be able to draw anatomy and poses right the first time in order to quickly be able to express stories and convey expressions. I have quite some way to go until I can do that though.

i don't think there is such a thing as a really talented artist posting too often... i don't think you'll hear anyone complaining

oh really ? I will probably try to post a bit more often my sketch, so.
( For the moment , I limit myself posting not more than one thing per week. )
